Worth Matravers is a stone village in the English county of Dorset. The village is situated on the cliffs west of Swanage. It comprises of Purbeck stone cottages and larger, modern stone houses which overlook the sea. Worth Matravers is built around a pond, which is a regular feature on postcards of the Isle of Purbeck.

Winspit
About a mile from the village is Winspit, an old quarry on the cliffs. The quarry sits on the junction of the footpath from Worth Matravers with the South West Coast Path and makes a picnic spot like no other.

Today, The Square and Compass couples three tasks: it entertains long standing patrons, refreshes walkers and tourists and draws in music lovers. When the sun is shinning it’s great to sit outside and admire the amazing views across the sea, definitely a must visit when you come to Dorset.
