Bournemouth Marathon Festival

Stunning sea views, fresh crisp clean air and the very best of Bournemouth and Poole is on show as the South Coast is home to an international marathon. This is the perfect natural environment for “running as it should be”. Be a part of it! The Bournemouth Marathon Festival brings many distances together in one unique festival of running. The course is fast and picturesque, making it a must-do for anyone looking to set a PB. With 6 races to choose from there is something for all abilities, so if you don’t feel up to running a full marathon, then why not enter the half marathon, supersonic 10k or speed of light 5k? There are also junior races for the kids, so enter now and get the whole family involved!

6th October is Grandparents day, what better way to spend the day than treating your Grandparents to a lovely day out at Farmer Palmers. Free entry for a Grandparent with every full paying child. 10am- 5.30pm.

With an estimated 20,000 people, families and bikers descending on Weymouth Beach for this annual event. First races from 1pm. There will be something for everyone at this spectacular event!

Swanage Blues Festival, Purbeck, Dorset

3rd – 6th October 2019

Swanage Blues & Roots Festival.

There will be over 100 musicians performing at 60 events in 15 indoor venues. There’s superb music, drinking, eating, dancing, fun and laughter across the town and beyond, starting on Thursday evening and going on till late Sunday evening. Aspiring performers can take part in the Electric Jam sessions, Open Mic sessions and Stan’s Blues Jamboree too.

Swanage Railway Autumn Steam Gala

Celebrating 70 years since the 1948 Locomotive Exchange Trials, the 2018 Autumn Steam Gala on the Swanage Railway will bring together classes of locomotive that were involved in British Railways’ experiment to examine steam from across the Country on a variety of different work. In addition we will be running our visitors with locomotives that ran on the Southern Region during 1948, and those that were subsequently inspired by these tests.

Come along and explore the castle this Hallowe’en, find the ghosts and the pumpkins on Corfe Castle’s Hallowe’en Quest and enjoy the other hair-raising activities including the Scary Teddy Zip Wire Challenge….he who bears, wins! Events are free, but standard castle entree fees apply, free for National Trust members

Halloween Fun at Shire Hall Historic Courthouse.

Join us for spooky story-telling in the underground cells throughout the week, or come along to our slime-making sessions on weekdays 11-3pm After your visit, pop up to our café for some seasonal autumnal recipes and Halloween treats. Kids who are dressed up go free*. Subterranean slime workshops £2.00 per child to cover costs of materials. *2 kids go free with every full paying adult. Opening Times: Monday – Sunday: 10:00 – 17:00
