Introduction & General Information:

Stone Quay Cottage is a small, detached cottage right in the heart of the beautiful old fishing town of Swanage, just a stone’s throw away from the historic Stone Quay, the lovely sandy beaches, the Victorian Pier, the harbour and all the amenities. The cottage dates back to the 1850’s but has been completely renovated to provide a beautiful modern home.

Pre Arrival:

Bookings and enquiries can be made via Dorset Holiday Cottages.

The nearest bus stop is an 8 minute walk (0.3 miles) in Swanage Bus Station by Swanage Train Station. Buses run regularly from Poole (No:40) or Bournemouth (No:50) to Swanage. Swanage Train Station is 0.3 miles from Stone Quay Cottage. There are taxis available at Swanage Train Station.

Stone Quay Cottage is situated in Swanage town close to the shops, restaurants and supermarkets – they are all in easy walkable access.

Property allows one or two dogs – downstairs only. There is an additional charge of £25 per week whether its one or two dogs staying. 


Arrival & Parking:

No parking allocated to the property, but free parking is available on Park Road or nearby roads. There is also a car park: Broad Road Car Park, Swanage


Steps and stairs:

There is a small step in the front door and the property has wooden stairs to access the first floor with the two bedrooms and bathroom. There is a stair gate at the top of the stairs.


Entrance Door:

Marshall Row is a quiet side road by the Stone Quay and Swanage Pier.

The front door opens on to main downstairs, open-plan area with lounge and kitchen. An elevated cupboard by door contains fuse box and electric meter, with coat hooks.


Ground Floor:

Lounge area: Flooring is wooden laminate throughout downstairs. Heating – gas central heated with thermostat and Combi boiler for instant hot water.

There is a two-seater sofa, coffee table and a television with free view is provided with remote control. There is Wi-Fi. Large windows, with white curtains, provide lots of light downstairs.

Kitchen area: Oval dining table with 3 chairs. Gas hob, electric oven, microwave, electric kettle, fridge with freeze box, washing machine, toaster. Fitted kitchen with storage for crockery, glasses etc. Window.


First Floor:

Stairs: Wooden stairs up to first floor. Stair gate. Carpet throughout upstairs except Lino floor in bathroom

Main bedroom: Double bed with bedside tables and bedside lights. The duvet and 4 pillows are synthetic with a 100% cotton duvet set. Two bath and hand towels are provided. Two Velux windows and one front window – all with blackout blinds. Hanging area for clothes. Ironing board and travel cot (no mattress or linen) Wicker storage. Heater. Airer. Fan. Stool and wall mirror. Radiator. Picture. Hairdryer in drawer. Spare duvet. Blanket.

Second bedroom: Single bed with bedside table and lamp. The duvet and 2 pillows are synthetic with a 100% cotton duvet set. One bath and hand towel are provided. Two Velux windows with blackout blinds and blind pole. Radiator. Highchair under bed. Spare duvet. Blanket. Shell mirror. Large mirror.


Bathroom and WC:

Bath with shower over, fitted glass shower screen, standard height toilet, wash basin, large mirror, heated towel rail.


Additional Information:

Fire blanket & fire extinguisher in kitchen area.
