Introduction & General Information:

Seashell View is a stunning 3 bed apartment with sea views, that has undergone a full refurbishment in 2023. Nestled on the raised area in Swanage town centre, this apartment boasts exceptional views from many of the light-filled rooms. It is a dream escape for families or friends alike.

The apartment is accessed via external garden steps and internal staircase and laid over one floor.

Seashell View welcomes guests of all ages but does not accept pets due to building restrictions. The apartment is pet-free.

It is a non-smoking holiday home, and hen/stag parties are not accepted.



Bookings are made through Dorset Cottage Holidays via www.dhcottages.co.uk or 01929 481547.

The nearest bus stop is by the Swanage station on Station Approach, about a 5 minute walk from the property. You will also find the main bus station with regular buses from Poole and Bournemouth as well as Wareham. Swanage railway station boasts a fully working steam train with a tourist train that links up to Corfe Castle. Taxis are also available at the station.

By car access is via the A351 through Corfe or by using the ferry that runs every 20 minutes from Poole – Sandbanks. It is then a 15-minute drive from the ferry to the apartment.


Arrival & Parking

  • Seashell View has an allocated area to park a car (marked as ‘2’) – the space can take one large car or two small cars (i.e hatchbacks). The parking is located on the side of the building and accessed via Manor road.
  • To access the parking space, take a left off the Stafford Road to Manor road and then left again to the driveway near Rocklands building.
  • Please make sure to not block any cars and park in the allocated space only.
  • From the parking area get down to the lower level (2 steps with a rail) and follow the path around to the front of the building door. Please note, that the path is uneven, and you might need a torch if arriving in the dark
  • The downstairs main door is always open (not locked).
  • Seashell view is on the first floor (carpeted staircase) to the right, and it has blue door with ‘Seashell’ sign on it. The keybox is to the left of the door.


Property Threshold:

Steps: Situated on the first floor, the apartment is accessed via two sets of staircase and additional steps to access the front of the building if accessing from the parking area.

There is a handrail on the right side of the stairs.

There are no steps once you inside the apartment.


The Apartment Itself:


Upon entering Seashell View, the light switch is on your LHS along with some coat hooks. Please leave all your shoes by the front door.

The hallway is carpeted.

There is a functional smoke alarm in the hallway.


Living room

The living room is on the left to the hallway and boasts high ceilings, big bay windows with sea views, and tasteful coastal décor.

Comfortable pieces of new furniture include two velvet sofas and an armchair. There is a large coffee table and two small ones, smart TV, one free standing lamp and one table lamp, a TV stand and a large dresser with a selection of books and games.

The welcome folder is also located in the living room along with brochures and leaflets to local activities.

Roman blinds are installed on all living room windows and can be easily adjusted.

The living room is carpeted throughout.

The WI-FI router is located in the living room.



The kitchen is separate and is opposite the living room.

The kitchen is equipped with a microwave, electric oven, gas hob, fridge with ice box, dishwasher, washing machine, a kettle, and a 4-toaster.

There is plenty of cutlery and crockery in cupboards and drawers.

There is an oak dining table with 6 chairs.

The boiler is in the kitchen.

The fire extinguisher and fire blanket located in the kitchen. There is a functional smoke alarm, too.

A large bay window is facing a separate parking area. The window has made to measure white wood Shutters.



Bedroom 1 – King

The light is on the LHS as you walk into the room.

The room has a new king size bed with new duvet and pillows. The duvet and pillows are all manmade.

There is a single door wardrobe with hangers, a separate chest of drawers, two bedside tables with two bedside lamps, a mirror and two pictures on the walls.  USB and regular sockets are located on each side of the bed. You will find a hair dryer in the chest of drawers.

The room has two windows. One bay window is facing Swanage Bay and has sea views. The other window is facing the street and other buildings. Both windows have made to measure white wood Shutters.

You will find a travel cot in the king room (no linen provided for the travel cot). High Chair can be hired from Dorset Cottage Holidays.

The room is carpeted with new carpets.


Room 2 – Double bedroom

The room is between the living room and the king room, and offers sea views.

The light switch is on the RHS as you walk into the room.

There is a double size bed with two bedside stalls and lamps on them. There are sockets on each side of the bed.

There is a chest of drawer and a few wall pictures.

The window is above the headboard, and has made to measure white wood shutters.

The radiator is located under the window.

The room is carpeted with new carpets.


Room 3 – Twin bedroom

Located at the end of the hallway on the right-hand side.

The light switch is on the LHS as you walk into the room.

There is twin 3ft beds with two bedside tables and lamps on them. There are sockets on each side of the bed.

There is a single door wardrobe with hangers, a separate chest of drawers, a mirror and a picture on the wall.

There are two windows, first one is facing other buildings, and the second one facing the second parking area. The windows have made to measure white wood shutters.

The room is carpeted with new carpets.

There are no steps to access the twin room.


Family Bathroom

There are no steps to access the bathroom.

Next to the twin bedroom is the family bathroom with a free-standing oval bath, sink, mirror, cabinet, large heated towel rail, WC and a separate walk in shower.

There are two shower heads over the bath: a fixed shower head and a handheld shower head.

There are two windows with roller blinds.


Communal garden

The apartment has a community garden at the front, which has a small table and a few chairs.

There is a large washing line provided outside.


Additional Information:

The thermostat is located on the wall, between the cupboard and double room.  The information on how to use the thermostat will be in the Welcome Folder in the apartment.

Ironing board and iron, hoover and a mop can be found in the cupboard.

Pillows, duvets and mattresses are all brand new (purchased in 2023) and manmade.

The bins are located on the other side of the building (can be seen from the kitchen window). The bins are large and labelled so it is easy to separate the waste.
