Introducing Elm Villa
This delightful new property is one that I have been lucky enough to see grow from strength to strength during the owners renovation project. It is always a privilege to see a property evolve into its full potential and be given a new lease of life! When I first met with the owners I could see the project was being well managed and driven by Mrs B, the whole family are involved in the project and of course have the paint stains to prove it! It was clear to me from the beginning they are all passionate about the area and have a clear image of how they want the house to work for them. When asked why they chose to purchase in the Purbecks this is what they had to say…
“What we love about this area is everything ,we have been holidaying here for about 16 years since our boys were small to the point if we went on holiday anywhere else I felt sad that I wasn’t in Dorset .People here in Wareham are very friendly the town has a lot of history , lots of lovely traditional shops it hasn’t lost its identity and there is always plenty going on . Elm Villas is our escape from dairy farming and we love it here .”
This property has been furnished to a high standard throughout, it is practical, inviting and will make you feel instantly at home. The cosy living room with open fire place is the perfect place to spend cosy evenings snuggled up on the sofa. The Victorian period features of high ceilings and wrought iron fireplaces are a delight and give a charming ambience. The owners have also spent a lot of time bringing the original floorboards back to their former glory. Much of the work has been carried out by the family at the weekends, which is why the passion is so apparent. All bedrooms are a good size and are dressed in Laura Ashley linen, they look so inviting that you can just picture being curled up with a good book after a busy days sight seeing.
“We chose fabrics that complemented the age of the house , that were light and neutral but also with a seaside theme.”
Many people are sometimes afraid to take on challenges when purchasing a holiday home but seeing how this project has been undertaken is proof that it is a truly satisfying experience. The advice Mr & Mrs B have for anyone thinking of a refurb project…
“Best practical advice would be to use local tradesmen and companies i.e. tile shops and hardware stores as they can put you in touch with other reputable tradesmen best way of employing somebody is through recommendation rather than using websites or yellow pages .”
The location of Elm Villa is what made the final decision for this family to buy, and who can blame them! Sitting at the foot of the Saxon Walls, with a plethora of attractions and beaches all within a short distance, plus a direct link through to London from the train station, which is just a 5 minute walk away. This property has prime location written all over it! Elm Villa will appeal to anyone seeking a chance to explore all Purbeck has to offer, but only if you can tear yourself away from the sumptuous and inviting interior!
