Well appointed for a family of 6. However the 3rd bedroom was small and with bunk beds, suited children rather than adults.Lounge was large and led direct to garden which was ideal. Everyone that we spoke to was very helpful.

Clean and comfortable. Very nice staff in the shop in corfe

I have never stayed in such a well equipped, comfortable cottage. From a welcome tea and biscuits, to the drawer full of maps and local information, this cottage did not disappoint. It is in the bus route so we were able to leave the car behind, and five minutes from the nearest pub. The cottage is so good, I hope to make a return visit in the near future!
S. Belk 27/02/2020

What a wonderful cottage. A real home from home warm cozy and
everything well thought of. This is an area that we love and have
visited many times -it takes some beating! The cottage and all its
comforts are outstanding. Thank you very much, we will be back.

Lovely not to use the car everyday. Enjoyed the steam train and
walk up to the castle. The cottage was comfortable and well
equipped.

and well-equipped accommodation!

Portlock Family. 05/07/2019
Our 4th visit to Gable Cottage, this time just for a cheeky 3 night break at the end of half term.
The cottage was clean and comfortable as usual and we noticed a new carpet had been put on the stairs which looked very nice.
We love Corfe, and Gable cottage is in a great location for running and walks around the local area (Kingston, Swanage, Studland Beach, Old Harry Rocks and not forgetting Poole Parkrun) We did manage to cram in quite a bit and as usual we didn't want to go home!!
I'm sure we'll be back again soon.....
Dawn Blaber 10/06/2019
We had a really good time the cottage was ideally located for site seeing, the cottage had everything we needed and was very comfortable the only problem was the key box we found it hard to open.we would definitely return.
Mr Testa 06/06/2019
We were impressed with the cottage and its contents. It is well stocked with DVDs, games, kitchen equipment, local information and comfy beds. Everything was clean and pleasant. It is a good location with easy access to local attractions, towns and scenery.
We stayed as a family, adults and kids, for a long weekend over the bank holiday but would like to return for a longer stay in the future.

Lovely stay in a warm and welcoming cottage. It has everything

What a lovely place to spend half term. So much to see and do.
It was great to park up on arrival and not move the car for 3 days!
Love castle and steam train. With 2 little boys they were kept well
entertained and recommend the Corfe Castle stores if you like good
Gin!

Martin Family. 22/02/2019
This is a very comfortable cottage with space and light. Very good views of the countryside behind and towards the hill overlooking Corfe. There is a nice rear garden and the
off-road parking is extremely useful. The cottage heats up well when needed in the cold weather.

Surprised that personal hand towels were not provided for each guest to go with the bath towels. Always had these provided at any rented cottage or hotel room.

The downstairs shower lacks power and was not used. This may be easily rectified.

Overall a very enjoyable stay.
D. Bowden 15/10/2018
Another lovely week in Corfe, a nice comfortable and spacious cottage
Mrs P 03/10/2018
Thank you for such a beautifully equipped cottage, everything we needed
Mr Blake 29/09/2018
Gable cottage is well equipped, and very convenient for visiting surrounding area. Cottage has convenient downstairs shower room. The weather was great, so made our stay extra enjoyable. Would recommend to anyone wanting to stay in this area . Village lovely. Nice people in village shops. Lovely holiday.
Mrs b eton 14/09/2018
My family and I had a wonderful stay at Gable Cottage. It had everything we needed and was very clean and spacious with a lovely large garden. You can even see the steam trains going by from the bedroom window (a bonus if you happen to have a train-loving child!). We have stayed in several cottages in and around Corfe over the years, and I think this may be our favourite.
Claire Walker 31/08/2018
Our third stay at Gable cottage. Comfortable, clean and well equipped.
It was great waking up and opening the wide window in the main bedroom with the sunshine streaming in looking at the view and listening to the birds chirping.
It would be handy to have some hand towels to accompany the bath towels.
A great location for walks and running from Corfe to Swanage, Kingston and surrounding villages.
Another enjoyable holiday with Dorset Holiday Cottages, it always goes too quick though!
Dawn Blaber 25/08/2018
A really lovely cottage with many thoughtful items to enable us to enjoy our holiday, even down to a choo choo train which kept our granddaughter amused for hours.
Very clean, bright and welcoming with lovely views of the dorset hills.
Susan 13/07/2018
Wonderfully charming and accommodating cottage near the centre of Corfe Castle. We stayed 3 nights and had everything we needed. One could see that there was a lot of thought put into the set up. Little welcome package with biscuits, tea, coffee and milk , fast maintenance when needed. The key in the keylock, thermostats set, bedding and towels ( just missing a tea towel for drying dishes). Thank you for a pleasant stay!
A Charters 11/05/2018
The cottage was spacious, and suited our needs perfectly. Great location for using the train to Swanage etc. Also useful base for visiting other attractions in the area, Lulworth Cove Durdle Door.
In short, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will visit again.
Alf Wallis 26/10/2017
The cottage had everything we required including a secure garden for the children. Plenty of room to park. It was situated close to the village attractions, good pubs, and village shops. (The village shop delivered our groceries on the first evening.) We enjoyed a walk across the common, while the children enjoyed the village playground. A short drive to Studland beach for the sand or Kimmeridge Bay for rock pools. Also convenient for the station to get the train to Swanage.
Gill Baker 18/08/2017
Another great stay at Gable Cottage but first time with ash DH Cottages. We arrived very late Friday evening , the cottage was very clean on arrival and there was tea, coffee, sugar, milk and biscuits which was a lovely touch. In previous holiday rentals we haven't had that before. We also received a telephone call on Saturday morning (unfortunately I missed, but a message was left) to check all was ok. Again another nice touch. Gable Cottage has everything you need for a holiday. We were lucky with the weather and enjoyed Swanage, Studland beach, The Castle Inn always great for food, The King's Arms in Wareham again great value pub grub and of course the fantastic Square & Compass for ales and pasty with a wonderful view. Great week.
Suzanne 17/06/2017
We stayed here in April 2017 when winter decided to make a return visit but how cosy we were in this lovely property. Everything you needed was provided, we didn't run out of cutlery and crockery while we were filling up the dishwasher. We had a lovely fully equipped kitchen/dining room and a comfortable lounge with a good selection of dvds to watch. Two bathrooms were a definite bonus with four adults staying. An nice easy short walk to the nearest pub and the centre of the village. Ample parking. the only thing was we weren't quite sure when the bin was emptied. The handbook said fortnightly but not what day and as there was already a big black bag in the bin when we arrived the bin was rather full when we left. But that is only one minor point. All in all a fab place to stay in a lovely village.
Judith Martin 02/05/2017
It was lovely to stay in a cottage in the beautiful and well served village of Corfe Castle for the second time this year. The bread from the bakery is delicious and the local pub is warm and welcoming. We had many great days on the beach at Studland Bay and also enjoyed a fantastic day on Brownsea Island. The cottage had everything we needed for a comfortable stay.
Lisa Astbury 26/04/2017
Thank you for a fantastic holiday. Cottage was lovely. Very well equipped for us - a family of 2 adults and 2 young kids. It has a very warm and friendly feel. It was also nice and warm and clean when we arrived. Location was excellent for exploring a really nice part of Dorset. We enjoyed last week so much that we recommended to friends who are now staying at the same cottage this week.
Matt Shepherd 24/02/2017
Thanks to our friends Ceri and Matt for a brilliant recommendation. We have LOVED Gable Cottage and would love to return. Farmer Palmers; Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door and Studland Bay- well worth a visit. The Model Village Café did a cooked brekkie in their tea room was fabulous. Delicious dinner at The Bankes too. So much to see and do; too little time!
Anon. 22/02/2017
We had a wonderful stay in a lovely cottage. We all loved it. Steam train to Swanage great fun. Pier and beach worth a visit. Farmer Palmers is amazing for the kids. And Corfe Castle with the teddy zip-line a real hit. Loved it so much we recommended it to friends for next week.
Castle Inn really friendly and great food so do stop in!!!

Another lovely holiday at Gable Cottage. Glorious weather all 2 weeks. Nice meals at Castle Inn and Bankes Arms. Great beaches, running routes and walks.
Anon. 05/08/2016
We have enjoyed our stay in this lovely area. Studland Beach at Knoll was our favourite and also a wonderful day at Brown Sea Island- such a variety of things to enjoy.
Anon. 22/07/2016
The cottage was well appointed, with a pleasant garden and comfortable furniture. Far enough out of Corfe Castle village to have its own parking, but near enough to walk to the castle and shops easily. Excellent service from DCH - sorted out a minor problem very quickly and efficiently.

Would definitely recommend both the cottage and DCH.
Wendy Parkinson 16/07/2016
Thoroughly enjoyed our walking week in Purbeck. Great location to step out the front door and explore!
Anon. 07/07/2016
Gable Cottage is in a great location with many walks in the beautiful Dorset countryside on your doorstep. Also close to the seaside, the dramatic Jurassic Coast and Corfe Castle itself.
The cottage has everything to enjoy a comfortable stay. A cosy living room, spacious kitchen, comfortable bedrooms and a lovely garden.
Lisa 21/06/2016
Had a great time. Love the area! Great for walking. Very comfortable cottage with everything you would expect and more! We were very lucky with the weather. Nice holiday!

Anon. 13/05/2016
Really enjoyed our stay at Gable cottage it was very clean and comfortable, everything you could want was there in the kitchen, bathrooms and lounge area. I was recommended by a work colleague who had stayed a few weeks previously and all the staff at Dorset Cottage Holidays were very helpful with my booking. Another work colleague has booked for a swanage apartment through you for this weekend under my recommendation. Thankyou for a lovely visit to Corfe. Castle.
shirley guy 02/05/2016
Gable Cottage is just the right mix of traditional features (wooden floors and doors) with modern facilities (up to date kitchen and bathrooms). The layout is perfect and the rooms a good size. Corfe Castle is a great location, with the Castle and the Steam Railway close by. Also a short walk to several very good pubs. We have recommended to friends and would book again.
W Durrant 05/03/2016
Excellent, well equipped cottage. Enjoyed the week of sunshine- how lucky were we to visit The Square and Compass at Worth Matravers. The second best pub in the world!!!

We have enjoyed our stay in this lovely area. Studland Beach at Knoll was our favourite and also a wonderful day at Brown Sea Island- such a variety of things to enjoy.

Thoroughly enjoyed our walking week in Purbeck. Great location to step out the front door and explore!

Great week walking and driving round Dorset and coming back each evening to this lovely cottage. Castle Inn best place to eat in village.

Castle.

Excellent, well equipped cottage. Enjoyed the week of sunshine- how lucky were we to visit The Square and Compass at Worth Matravers. The second best pub in the world!!!

Good weather. We enjoyed our stay- The Castle does a good meal, as does The Quay Inn at Wareham!
