We are delighted to introduce Seagulls Rest, located on a small
exclusive development of beautifully
designed homes. This seaside home has been tastefully furnished in
a modern style with quality
contemporary furniture. The large open plan kitchen, dining area
and lounge has access to the large
balcony with outside dining furniture and views across to Ballard
Down. Both double bedrooms
benefit from ensuite facilities with the ground floor bathroom
acting as a family bathroom with a Jack
'n' Jill design. There is a private and secure ground floor patio
and garden with table and chairs and
BBQ making this a safe environment for children. There is ample
storage under the raised balcony for
storage of bikes etc. and can also be used for the 2nd parking
space although it won't then be secure
as the gates cannot be closed.
Swanage is the eastern gateway to Dorset's World Heritage Jurassic

My two grandchildren always enjoy staying here.
It was actually quite nice to be just a little out of town as there was a handy store nearby for any shopping we needed within walking distance.
I actually have a walking difficulty and the only small suggestion maybe for the provision of a slip resistant mat for the upstairs shower.
It was a good holiday in spite of a day or two of windy weather.
Response: Thank you for your lovely review. I believe a non slip mat is available, however I will ensure this is checked as being present. We hope to welcome you again in the future.
The location is super for Swanage and surrounding places. Perfectly placed on the 40 bus route which takes you to Wareham and Corfe as well as Swanage, which links you to the other bus routes for the Jurassic Coast but the walk from the house to Swanage is only 10-15mins.
Highly recommend.
Only shame is that towels arent provided. The hire company that was recommended to us was actually on holiday in August and wasnt hiring towels.
Response: Thank you for your review, Seagulls Rest is situated just 0.8 miles from the town an beach.
It was located in a quiet part of Swanage but was still easy to reach all of the facilities in the town.
We thought there would be a high chair there for a young child but we couldn't find it. My daughter with her 2 year old joined us and we were puzzled by lack of high chair.
The staff from Dorset Cottage were always friendly and helpful.
I would recommend using Dorset Cottage Holidays to anyone visiting Dorset
Very tastefully equipped with not cheap stuff. Really fresh bedrooms and 2 bedrooms with very nice ensuites. Would not hesitate in recommending this place to anyone young or old.very roomy for larger families 2 albeit there was only two of us mostly.
Only 2 minor observations 1.a hair-dryer would be useful
2. more than 4 teaspoons would be good
But in all spot on
Over the many years that we have been visiting Swanage this is certainly one of the best properties we have used.
Could have done with a clothes airer so we bought one large and a couple small and left them there.
There was more outside space than we were expecting, a washing line and (for the first time in Swanage) clear bin instructions,
Everyone thought the keysafe was a great idea and much less stress than endless key worries.
Thanks for a good holiday.
