Spacious and well equipped house, with lovely garden and ample enclosed parking. Peaceful and secluded situation, but near to tourist attractions.

The range of toys on offer was much appreciated by our two year old! The adults loved the large kitchen/dining area and large lounge overlooking the gardens.

Very comfortable beds, and several bath/shower rooms were convenient for a large group and the downstairs bedroom/ensuite ideal for someone with a disability.

We had a problem soon after arrival with a leaking toilet; DHCottages responded immediately, and a plumber arrived within the hour on a Saturday evening!

We would recommend this property.

5th year going to West Lodge as a group of 10 - just as special every time. The house has everything we need and is very comfortable for all of us. Close enough to the sea and a lovely walk to Corfe Castle. Looking forward to our next trip already.
Sam Ramplin 08/12/2019
A group of 6 adults , 3 children and a 13 month old baby enjoyed this smart and spacious property. It also has a nice patio/terrace area looking out onto an attrractive garden.
The weather was kind enough for breakfasts and dinners outside as well.
It is also very well stocked with all the essentials.
Those that required TV could do so in one of 2 rooms at the front, otherwise it was sitting in the attractive room looking onto the garden;
A very enjoyable stay, handy for Swanage and Studland beaches.
Richard Swainston. 19/08/2019
We had 7 adults and 3 children and the house, playroom, TV room and lounge made it possible for everyone to either be together or to disperse around the house. The garden was a joy - I even did some dead heading with my early morning coffee - so peaceful. It was in a good spot for visiting places of interest. We often went in three different directions to suit the age group in the car. We were blessed with a week of lovely weather and all in the group loved the accommodation and position with regard to getting out and about. They all wished I had booked 2 weeks! I celebrated my 75th with the family and it was a holiday to remember.
Gretchen Chidwick 30/07/2019
Enjoyed our stay ar West Lodge immensely. Lovely spacious house with excellent facilities. The well stocked toy room was a bonus for us as we had three boys under 4 years old in our family group. The ground floor bedroom was perfect for my mother as stairs are a difficulty for her. The kitchen was very well equipped and coped easily with our group of 10 baby.
However we found the sofas in the TV room uncomfortable, one was saggy and had no support, the other was very hard and unforgiving.
This is only a minor issue compared to the other very good points about this property.
Sue Draper 21/09/2018
West Lodge was the perfect venue for our family holiday. We were 10 baby! It had a very special feeling was very clean and comfortable and we all loved staying there. The house was large enough for us to never feel on top of each other even when the weather was wet. The house was very well stocked and all appliances worked well. The children adored the garden which also was immaculately kept. It was a delight to return to our beloved Dorset and this lovely house made the holiday even more special. A perfect spot from which we could travel the area and explore. Thank you. We'd love to stay there again.
The Coles and Dowmans 25/08/2018
This is probably the best holiday home we've ever stayed in, and we've stayed in a lot! A beautiful home with lots of space and very tasteful decor. They have thought of everything. There was nothing we needed that they hadn't already thought of.

The garden was also large and beautifully kept. We had our breakfast out there every morning.

The area was nice and pretty quiet and a really good base for getting out and exploring the many places nearby. Lots to see within 30 mins drive from the house. Our favourites were Studland Bay and Lulworth Cove.

The only negative I can think of was the doors were a bit noisy at night when opening and closing. The floorboards also made noise when walking across the rooms upstairs (mainly noticeable at night) but other than that, the house was fabulous and I would highly recommend.
Jo Bonner 13/07/2018
This was our 2nd visit and was of the same high standard as our 1st.The property has an excellent layout well equipped and has beautiful well maintained gardens in which to relax.
Peter Castle 07/06/2018
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at West Lodge. It is a large house with enough rooms to be able to spread out or be together whichever is preferred. The garden was a particular highlight with many different flowers and shrubs and lovely garden furniture which made eating outside easy if we wished to. Only slight drawback was very slow internet which unfortunately in this modern age is considered “essential” by some people. We look forward to maybe visiting this house and the surrounding area again as there was a lot we didn’t get round to doing!!
Pauline S. 07/06/2018
We had only half of the week we booked here because of family problems but we have been blessed with glorious weather to ease the worries. Fabulous house - our second visit. Too big for just two of us!
Christine 22/02/2018
Lovely large, characterful house with plenty of room and everything we needed. Only had 1 wet day, plenty to see and do in the area, looking forward to returning again. Enjoyed meals at the Halfway Inn and The New Inn. Many thanks
Munn, Taylor and Francis Families 22/02/2018
A lovely house with plenty of room. The children loved the garden, also it was lovely to have all the boys. Lots of things to do in the local area. We particularly enjoyed walks to Swanage and Corfe Castle. All in all a great holiday.
Rosser Smiths 22/02/2018
Three generations and we've all had a great time. House and garden was perfect for us all and so many lovely places to visit. Not enough time to do all the things we wanted to do so we hope to return. Thank you for the welcome pack - much appreciated.
Halls and Martin Family 22/02/2018
Thank you for a lovely family gathering at your most comfortable home. Even for the 70 year old, all needs were more than met. The Christmas decor and attention to detail were so appreciated, especially by tired travellers. The children loved the selection of toys, DVDs, and books! Thank you again for making this such an enjoyable stay.
Newberry 22/02/2018
Ideal accommodation for our two families. Three beautifully sunny mid-winter days. The house felt warm and friendly and is well-equipped.

Wonderful time had by all! Beautiful house - catered to all our needs. Garden looked magical in the autumn sunshine. Loved our walks in the surrounding countryside and Corfe village. Greyhound and Bankes Arms were welcoming with a great selection of ales. Highly recommend the Sunday lunch at The New Inn down the road. Can't wait to come back!

Wonderful house, very well equipped. Perfect for making big family feasts . Corfe Castle was great, lovely walk up and great views all around. We had fab weather for a trip on the steam train to Swanage and a walk along the coast. Fantastic fudge from Corfe village too , it didn't last long. House is so homely and comfortable, we didn't want to leave 🙁
Coyle and Duggan 22/02/2018
Wellllllll.. we have had yet another fantastic weekend in the most beautiful comfortable well equipped house/home!
Bath buns 22/02/2018
Absolutely fabulous house, great for a big family gathering, adults and children loved it.
Julia Ingram 22/02/2018
The house was extremely well equipped and very spacious. We had 8 adults, 2 toddlers and a baby staying there and did not feel like we were 'on top' of each other at all. Our toddler was so so happy with the toys which we were not expecting to be there. The location of the house was very good with so many things to do within a short driving distance. We would come again!
Caroline Bickerton 14/11/2017
This holiday cottage is fabulous. It has everything you want for a relaxing holiday.
I went with all my family, young children included and it was a delight to be there. It is spacious and comfortable. The children loved the toys and the garden.
Julia 12/10/2017
We enjoyed a wonderful family holiday at West Lodge, Church Knoll, despite the weather being unsettled. The house was comfortable and spacious, clean and well equipped and the garden was lovely which all made for a perfect holiday home. It was a great base with lots of places to visit and things to do for both inside and outside entertainment. Highly recommend for a family holiday. The staff at Dorset Cottage Holidays were very efficient and helpful. Thank you all.
Linda Hall 11/08/2017
Beautiful house. Perfect for our holiday. Well located if you are looking for a rural setting away from it all. Beautiful garden as well and the patio was a sun trap perfect for a cup of tea after a walk. Highly recommended.
Alison 20/04/2017
The house was perfect in every way, loved the garden and all that space!
we will definitely be returning in the future, so much to do in the area - Monkey World, Blue Pool and lots of lovely fresh air on the beach.
the New Inn great for a Seafood meal.

The Wells Family Oct 2015 10/06/2016
Came with family and friends for Mums special Birthday at West Lodge and it has been wonderful.
The house has everything a family requires and everything has been thought of.
Kingston Lacey is well worth a visit as is Lulworth Cove - stunning rock formations.
even the weather has been kind, I am sure we will be back
Sellers Family Sept 2015 10/06/2016
despite the really awful weather we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves in this lovely family home.
It was warm, comfortable, well appointed and with excellent facilities
we were only here for week so local visits were limited to a visit to Swanage via the Steam Train and a wonderful local animal sanctuary at Church Knowle.
we would recommend this letting to anyone of a discerning taste
Excellent!!
The Venn Family Nov 2015 10/06/2016
this was our 10th Christmas "get together" and honestly it was the best accommodation we have had.
we enjoyed an extremely blustery walk at Kimmeridge and brisk walk to Corfe Castle.
Many a tasty meal round the ample sized dining table.
Brilliant - we will be back!!!!!

this house is a real find - I am sure we will back again soon.
The C Family Dec 2015 10/06/2016
Three generations of our family stayed in this lovely house for a week. The house was spacious, light and welcoming and was the best equipped home we have ever stayed in! There was plenty of space for us to all be together but also there was enough rooms to accommodate people wishing for some peace and quiet. The house was in easy reach of most places to visit in Dorset, and there was plenty to do, despite the weather not being too kind at the beginning of the week.
Teresa 22/04/2016

Plenty of parking (we took three cars). Went to middle beach at Studland Bay, parking, cafe and toilets, shallow water for quite a way out . Lots of interesting place within easy reach.

The only negative I can think of was the doors were a bit noisy at night when opening and closing. The floorboards also made noise when walking across the rooms upstairs (mainly noticeable at night) but other than that, the house was fabulous and I would highly recommend.

We had only half of the week we booked here because of family problems but we have been blessed with glorious weather to ease the worries. Fabulous house - our second visit. Too big for just two of us!

Lovely large, characterful house with plenty of room and everything we needed. Only had 1 wet day, plenty to see and do in the area, looking forward to returning again. Enjoyed meals at the Halfway Inn and The New Inn. Many thanks

Three generations and we've all had a great time. House and garden was perfect for us all and so many lovely places to visit. Not enough time to do all the things we wanted to do so we hope to return. Thank you for the welcome pack - much appreciated.

Wonderful time had by all! Beautiful house - catered to all our needs. Garden looked magical in the autumn sunshine. Loved our walks in the surrounding countryside and Corfe village.

Beautiful house. Perfect for our holiday. Well located if you are looking for a rural setting away from it all. Beautiful garden as well and the patio was a sun trap perfect for a cup of tea after a walk. Highly recommended.

despite the really awful weather we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves in this lovely family home.
It was warm, comfortable, well appointed and with excellent facilities
we were only here for week so local visits were limited to a visit to Swanage via the Steam Train and a wonderful local animal sanctuary at Church Knowle.
we would recommend this letting to anyone of a discerning taste
Excellent!!

this was our 10th Christmas "get together" and honestly it was the best accommodation we have had.

Many a tasty meal round the ample sized dining table.

We are a family of nine who stayed here. There are lots of games and toys here and books to suit children. we went on the train to Swanage. There were 9 of us over three generations. Home very well equipped and so much space. So much provided for children books, toys and videos. A choice of places to eat outside if you wished. Plenty of parking (we took three cars). Went to middle beach at Studland Bay, parking, cafe and toilets, shallow water for quite a way out . Lots of interesting place within easy reach.
We all had a lovely time. Would be very happy to return given the chance.
