Thank you for visiting our website. We hope you find your dream holiday home amongst our fabulous holiday cottages. We established Dorset Cottage Holidays over 25 years ago and it has always been a family run holiday cottage letting agency. Dorset Cottage Holidays was initially run from the family home. Started by grandmother (Ann) and granddaughter (Leanne) and initially run from a spare room, we started with just a handful of cottages, all handpicked for their quality and location. Over the years our portfolio grew but we still welcomed many of the same guests.
The business has now grown into its lovely premises in Corfe Castle, and we now represent a much larger portfolio of cottages.
Ann retired several years ago and Leanne took sole charge.
She says “I have looked after some of my owners for over 20 years, they rely on me to be available in an emergency and to keep them up to date with the ever changing laws and regulations that relate to holiday cottages. The industry has changed beyond recognition over the years. The biggest changes have been in competitor ownership with all selling out to national agencies and the importance of our website, which has become our most important tool”
“From the start we focused on quality holiday cottages. We only accept cottages that easily achieve a minimum three star grade from what was then the English Tourism Board (now Visit Britain). All of our cottages are inspected by every member of staff. They can offer first hand advice to guests, knowing the cottages inside and out.”
What sets us apart from the competition is that we are truly local and have a vested interest in the success of our individual owners and are held accountable by our guests, who can visit us face to face.
We have a fabulous team of staff, who have been with us for many years. They care about each guests experience and work really hard to create memorable stays in Dorset.
Our offices are located in Corfe Castle in the heart of Dorset’s honeypot locations.
Our address is:
8 East St, Corfe Castle, Dorset. BH20 5ED
We are nothing without our hardworking, local, dynamic team.
Domi has lived in the UK for over ten years and made Poole her home. She loves to socialise and travel but enjoy nothing more than spending time with her cats.
She manages our team of housekeepers – she employs only local people and doesnt use contract companies. She has created a team of housekeepers who support each other and trains each member to a high standard within our own unique Training Academy. She is also the first point of contact for guests and loves to chat about their plans, offering first hand advice about places to eat and days out in Dorset.
Blake has been with Dorset Cottage Holidays for over 7 years but being married to Director, Leanne – its fair to say he has been roped in for many years beforehand. Blake loves to spend time with his children and ride his motorbikes and will often be found tinkering with engines in his garage.
Blake is the first point of call for holiday cottage owners. He visits them to show how we can forge a successful letting partnership including advice on improvements, safety, tax law and expected revenue. He often runs in person owner events and webinars to help assist owners.
Welcome to our website. My name is Leanne, I am the founder of Dorset Cottage Holidays. 25 years later i still enjoy my work, I love the landscapes of Dorset, its history and way of life. My family used to develop property, so I’ve always enjoyed the variety of homes in the area and grew up on renovation sites. I particularly enjoy helping owners style their homes and dressing ready for photos.
Away from DCH i spend time on my small holding where I keep my horses. I have two young children who are very active, we spend alot of time enjoying sports and walking. We have a little jack russell called “Lucy” who is often found in the DCH office with me.
Melissa deals with all things marketing and works alongside a carefully selected range of specialists. She is also a dog lover, fortunately her dog Rufus is very photogenic and can be found featured in some of dog friendly information. She is very talented, and in her spare time is the creator of Womens’ Magazine “Disgraceful”. Mellissa is often found lecturing at her former university where she gained a degree in English, has been featured on the BBC and in local press.
Her official title is “Digital Story Teller” – she produces compelling content and breath-taking imagery.
Lesley has worked for Dorset Cottage Holidays for over 10 years in a variety of roles but in the accounts department for the past four years. She loves to rummage in car boot sales – but her top love has to be her dog Lily.
Lesley creates all our invoices and uses her talents to ensure all financials are accurate. She has been known to dress up as an elf to bring festive cheer to our Christmas guests, so that little ones can be assured that Santa knows where to find them.
