Elizabeth Cottage is an adorable romantic retreat, nestled in the quintessentially English village of West Lulworth, gateway to the famous Jurassic Coast. This detached "chocolate box" thatch, once a Tudor toll house is said to have been in the family of Anne Boleyn. The cottage exudes a warm charm, making for a perfect cosy getaway or special occasion.
Period features including inglenook fire place, low ceilings, roll top bath and quaint bedrooms add to the ambience of this coastal hide away. Within a short stroll, you will find the village pub, The Castle Inn, which serves delicious food and local ales (closed Mon-Weds throughout the winter). Slightly further into the village you can enjoy fine dining at The Limestone or Lulworth Lodge and many boutique eateries, along with a fish and chip shop and ice cream parlour. Groceries may be purchased at the villiage store, fresh fish at the cove.
The famous Cove is less than a mile away and an easy flat stroll. From here you can enjoy a walk on the pebble beach or perhaps enjoy a "Lulworth rib ride" and take in the sights you simply cannot see on land. For those that are keen walkers, a steep stroll will take you over the hill to Durdle Door, simply breath taking sights to be seen and never forgotten.
After a busy day retreat to your warm cosy cottage and enjoy the evening sunshine in the pretty garden.
Please note this property does have a steep stair case with a turn, may be unsuitable for those that find stairs a challenge.

Immaculately clean & everything we could possibly need. Kate was super helpful & welcoming; we particularly appreciated the fresh coffee, butter & chocolates.
This place is a little gem & the area outstandingly beautiful if a tad more hilly than we are used to in Suffolk.
Highly recommend a stay here, super walks too & dont miss the ice creams at Jakes cafe.
We were even lucky enough with the weather to have breakfast outside most days.
The cottage was comfortably furnished and with all the equipment you could possibly need.
The cottage has been modernised and brought up to date with wonderful, classical style.
We brought everything with us, except the kitchen sink and when we arrived, we realised that we actually didn't need any of it, as the cottage was as well equipped as our own home.
We had a very comfortable stay and WILL be back to stay again on a regular basis.
Thank you
It would be fab if it were possible to open more of the windows as it got very warm despite turning most of the radiators down.
Just a suggestion, perhaps some sort of baking/ oven tray would be useful, we did a lot of self catering and it would have been handy to have one.. Also, having dodgy eyesight (oh dear! Should have gone to spec savers!!) mayhap a slightly larger tv. This is not a complaint, merely an observation., we had a lovely week thankyou!
Kate and Jim, the caretakers who also gave us lots of good local information and made us feel welcome. West Lulworth is an excellent location for coastal walks and travelling to more inland historical places, such as Corfe Castle, Maiden Castle and Hardy's homes.
Lovely time- our second visit to the cottage. Thanks Kate for
the goody basket. Plenty of sunshine just 2 windy days. Monkey
World and The Tank Museum are a must see! If the ranges are open,
go to Tyneham Village. Lovely cake and coffee shop in Moreton.
Sculpture by the Lakes is a gem! xx
Spotlessly clean, great location. Walked to Lulworth Castle and
visited 'Tyneham' lots more.
Our favourite place to eat was in Wareham, The Old Granary on the Quay. Lovely walk beside the river too.
Excellent walks just on the doorstep, we'll be back!
Only slight niggle was the army training camp nearby, from which gunfire could be heard, so not for anyone who may be sensitive to this.
However, all in all would definitely recommend as there is so much to see and do in the area.
'Snug' is the perfect description to a jewel in the crown of this truly magnificent part of the Purbeck coast.
Thank you so much!
Such a fabulous location, so much to see and do.
The weather was kind to us and didn't affect our plans.
Need to come back and see more of this beautiful area!
The Dorset coast and countryside is stunning!
Hope to be back soon.
Can recommend The Castle Inn, Lulworth Cove Inn, Lulworth Lodge Bistro (our favourite) and The Sailors return.
