Russett Cottage 50.632886, -2.059443 Russett Cottage West Street Corfe Castle Corfe Castle England, United Kingdom (Directions)

Previously marketed via Island Cottage Holidays.

Russett Cottage is a charming Grade II listed stone property nestled towards the end of West Street with no passing traffic, an ideal retreat for guests looking for a comfortable stay in quality and characterful surroundings. Despite its quiet and peaceful location, this charming semi-detached cottage is within a short walk of the iconic castle, as well as the numerous independent tearooms and pubs that Corfe village is loved for. The picturesque steam railway linking Corfe to the seaside resort of Swanage is also only a ten minute walk away. Here there is a beautiful sandy beach, numerous restaurants and cafes selling local produce, and a small cinema and theatre house showing a variety of screenings and performances throughout the year.

Several walking and cycling routes can be accessed from close to the cottage, leading on to the spectacular Jurassic coastline as well as many of the smaller Purbeck villages. The beautiful cottage garden has a BBQ and outdoor furniture for al fresco dining, where there are breath-taking views of Corfe Castle.

The cottage itself is presented with guests' comfort in mind, and two seating areas have either an open fire or wood burning stove to enjoy a cosy evening beside. Flagstone floors, Purbeck stone feature walling and local artwork make this property a beautiful country retreat you will consider a welcoming home from home.

For larger parties looking to enjoy a break away all together, adjoining Daisy Cottage can be booked in conjunction with Russett. This will provide accommodation and dining space for a total of ten people, and is ideal for family celebrations with so many attractions close by.

New Cottage 2019

Wonderfully equipped for a home from home stay. Very homely and cosy. Great beds. Bit daunting if you have never used an aga. But we enjoyed the challenge.

Russett Cottage is a beautiful, spacious cottage in a fabulous location. It had everything we neededand we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It was so cosy and perfectly located for exploring the Isle of Purbeck.

We have stayed in Russet Cottage before and have always found it very well equipped, more so than other holiday cottages.
Cleanliness was top notch even under present difficult circumstances. It is always welcoming and a pleasure to return to, hence our booking for 2021 already in place.

After the first lockdown it was a taste of paradise to stay at this cottage. The thought of a holiday kept me going through several difficult months working on a covid ward, and in reality it surpassed my expectations. It's a roomy house but with a cottage feel. Absolutely perfect. The garden gave us plenty of room to relax while the children played in the sunshine.

This was the perfect cottage for your needs of two families travelling together. The location in Corfe Castle was idyllic and peaceful with all the sights of this area of Dorset within easy drive. The cottage is well equipped and spacious with a large garden. We would happily return.

This was our second year at Russett Cottage and we enjoyed our time there even more than a year ago. It is so like a home-from-home and so well placed near the Common as well as only a short walk into the Square. We hope to return on a regular basis. Many thanks for good upkeep!

Cottage was very comfortable, and lovely garden. Could have done with more wardrobe space and had to turn the Aga off due to the heatwave! But had a fantastic holiday thank you.

Russett Cottage, was very spacious, clean, comfortable and well equipped, and had a beautiful garden.
A 5 minute walk into Corfe Castle, and up the hill in the opposite direction into lovely countryside.
A most enjoyable week.

Our fourth visit to Russet Cottage and still find it a lovely comfortable spacious holiday home. Beautifully clean, comfortable beds, very well equipped with a gorgeous peaceful garden. The alterations to the parking area are a great improvement also.
Hope to return in October.
