Russett Cottage is a charming Grade II listed stone property nestled towards the end of West Street with no passing traffic, an ideal retreat for guests looking for a comfortable stay in quality and characterful surroundings. Despite its quiet and peaceful location, this charming semi-detached cottage is within a short walk of the iconic castle, as well as the numerous independent tearooms and pubs that Corfe village is loved for. The picturesque steam railway linking Corfe to the seaside resort of Swanage is also only a ten minute walk away. Here there is a beautiful sandy beach, numerous restaurants and cafes selling local produce, and a small cinema and theatre house showing a variety of screenings and performances throughout the year.
Several walking and cycling routes can be accessed from close to the cottage, leading on to the spectacular Jurassic coastline as well as many of the smaller Purbeck villages. The beautiful cottage garden has a BBQ and outdoor furniture for al fresco dining, where there are breath-taking views of Corfe Castle.
The cottage itself is presented with guests' comfort in mind, and two seating areas have either an open fire or wood burning stove to enjoy a cosy evening beside. Flagstone floors, Purbeck stone feature walling and local artwork make this property a beautiful country retreat you will consider a welcoming home from home.
For larger parties looking to enjoy a break away all together, adjoining Daisy Cottage can be booked in conjunction with Russett. This will provide accommodation and dining space for a total of ten people, and is ideal for family celebrations with so many attractions close by.

New Cottage 2019
Russet Cottage is always beautifully clean and extremely well equipped. We visit twice a year and find the cottage very welcoming. Unlike a lot of holiday rentals Russett has personal items in various places i.e. books and photographs which makes it feel homely and is a nice touch.
Great cottage, so much space to spread out. Really comfy beds with beautiful bedding. Masses of crockery and cutlery and a super efficient dishwasher. Loved everything about it. Unfortunately on Christmas eve the boiler broke down. The weather was so mild that we actually didn't miss the central heating too much as there is an open fire and the Aga throws out great heat. We also had an electric shower so we managed without too much difficulty. However I contacted Mrs Hurley who could not have been more helpful (and apologetic). She arranged for heaters to be delivered to us on Christmas Day morning and the gentleman also checked the boiler to see if it could fixed, sadly that was not the case. I should add that Mrs Hutley also gave us access to the cottage next door to use should we choose to. We would most definitely choose Russett Cottage again for a holiday.
Cleanliness was top notch even under present difficult circumstances. It is always welcoming and a pleasure to return to, hence our booking for 2021 already in place.
A 5 minute walk into Corfe Castle, and up the hill in the opposite direction into lovely countryside.
A most enjoyable week.
Hope to return in October.
