New Cottage Dec 2018
On Christmas Day we had clear blue skies and the sun was shining so decided to postpone lunch in favour of a walk to Dancing Ledge. Truly magical!
We very much hoping to return to this unspoiled area of Dorset to explore more of the walking and attractions it has to offer.
Great dog friendly pub and small village shop over the road from the cottage.
Thank you very much to the owners for creating such a lovely cottage that felt like home.
We have all had the best time celebrating Christmas and a boxing
day birthday. Beautiful cottage with equally beautiful
surroundings. Recommend the greyhound pub in Corfe, great
food and drink & dog friendly. Excellent walk on the
Priests' Way and towards Dancing Ledge. Thank you. Merry
Christmas.
Our second visit and the cottage is still as wonderful. We
had an early Christmas celebration with our wonderful family.
Fabulous time and despite the cold weather our son-in-law still
bbq'd as gorgeous ham and turkey legs. Had a great eveing on
the Saturday with games and much dancing. Cooked breakfast on the
Sunday via the bbq again. Oven is a bit tricky - seems to
always stay on 180c. Such a comfortable place. Could be
back again sometime.
Wonderful stay, such a lovely cottage, and we enjoyed great
weather for November. A super walk to Swanage from the
village.
What a beautiful house. Perfect for our two parties to
enjoy some time together and for the children to have space to
play. Sadly we didn't quite have the weather to make
use of the garden but maybe we'll be back in the summer to do
so. Great location for lots of trips and walks, and it's
clear that the owners love and take pride in the house - a
real treat for a holiday cottage. Thank you.
What a find, an amazing house with everything you need to make a
special holiday. Decor, furniture, bedding all fab especially
the really comfy beds, we've all slept so well. Loved the pub
just across the road, very quirky, also the village shop with all
we needed & so friendly. Also the handy bus stop with
local services to Swanage and local places, save using the
cars. Loved the folk festival in Swanage when we arrived; it
was a real eye-opener! We enjoyed Brownsea Island, Portland
Bill, Chesil Beach and walks to Dancing Ledge. A must is the
Square and Compass in worth Matravers, a very old old pub with such
views and even a dog that often sits on the roof and makes you
think you've had one too many. We've had an amazing week and
have loved it all and will return in the future.
Our second visit this year. We have had a wonderful week
at the cottage and our beach hut in Swanage. The weather has
been very kind to us. We have booked next year in June for
two weeks!
Another lovely week at the cottage, home from home feel.
We have enjoyed a beach hut on Swanage sea front, a day trip to
Father Palmer's farm and a trip on a train too. Loads of fun
had, looking forwards to two weeks here in June.
We have really enjoyed our family holiday here. Lovely
comfortable cottage. Weather has been fabulous so we have enjoyed a
bbq in the garden and cooked seafood from Swanage. Eaten and would
recommend the Shell Bay Bistro and Chilled Red. Enjoyed many
pints across the road at the Kings Arms. Walk to Dancing Ledge and
over to Worth Matravers - Square and Compass a great pub, wonderful
views, pie & pint with a chicken and Charlie the dog on the
roof. For those that follow, enjoy your time here.
P.S. Head to Studland for the best beaches.
'Best holiday ever' say Sam and Amilie (Age 6) Perfect holiday
home, but so much more than a home as it's just beautiful.
Comfortable and thoughtfully decorated, spotlessly clean and
perfectly situated. Thank you for a fab stay. Really enjoyed out
excursions to Corfe, Lulworth, the fantastic beach at Studland,
food at The Pig and the amenities of Swanage. All great places when
the sun is shining.
Wonderful house, so comfy and everything has been thought of. We
felt very lucky with the weather and BBQs and sea dips were
possible. Hope to return to this house one day soon and explore
some more. Our 4 year old's favourite bit was the Dorset heavy
horse farm and Studland beach. Thank you.
Lovely house in beautiful surroundings! We've had glorious
weather and eaten breakfast and dinners out on the patio. The men
in our party enjoyed the pub across the road and we all had a very
tasty Sunday lunch there too. Swanage was great, as usual, and
carnival week this week was fun. Everywhere was dog friendly too.
Will be back.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Perfect for 3 plus a toddler and
dog. Garden nice and safe and we managed to eat outside five times.
Thanks for everything.
Thank you so much for providing such a beautiful home for us to
stay. The house is lovely, had everything we needed and is in a
great location. We relaxed totally and the weather was
wonderful.
Absolutely wonderful place to stay. The cottage is more than
we'd ever hoped-for. 3 generations staying here but not once felt
overcrowded. Tastefully decorated in every room and well equipped.
We had fab weather amd we enjoyed a bbq in the evening. Visited
Poole, Bournemouth, Corfe Castle, Portland, Weymouth and Swanage.
Would definitely book to stay again. P.S. Thank you for the Dorset
Apple Cake.
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Cottage very pleasent and garden
area private with ample dinning space. If we returned we would like
to order the same weather please.
Seacombe is a beautiful cottage which is very spacious, well
equipped and presented to a high standard. It feels like a proper
family home and catered for three generations comfortably. The
children enjoyed playing in the garden and we managed to have a BBQ
one sunny evening. The location is ideal for the beach at Swanage
and Studland. The steam train to Corfe Castle was enjoyed by all.
We also had a pleasant day visiting Kingston Lacy, Hardy's Cottage
and Max Gate as well as T.E. Lawrence's little home at Cloud Hill.
Durston Castle is well worth a visit with stunning views even in
the rain. Thank you so much Theresa and Clive for allowing us to
spend a week in your gorgeous home. We will definitely come back
again.
Lovely well equipped house. We were glad of the facilities as
the weather was not kind to us. Plenty of space for everyone to
have their own space. Had our 5 month old grandson with us and
found new baby equipment very good. Thanks for the house. P.s. Very
clean and welcoming.
What a stunning cottage!!! Lovely areas to relax and spacious
bedrooms with plenty of storage. Kitchen was well equipped, lounge
lovely and cosy. We had a beach hut on Swanage sea front like we do
every year and went for some lovely drives around Worth, Kingston
and Corfe. As visitors to Swanage yearly we can definately
recommend this cottage as a place to stay. The garden is lovely and
the area pretty quiet which is nice. As a family - 3 generations (5
of us) we will definately book to stay here again.
The only negative is it can be difficult to get a parking space outside the cottage.
We had a lovely holiday at Seacombe. Beautiful cottage with
every comfort including the dogs. We visited lots of interesting
and fun places and four of us (3 generations) did a stone engraving
2 hour course at Burngate stone carving centre which we can
recommend.
Seacombe is a beautiful cottage - so well appointed with
everything we could wish for. We came up from Cornwall to celebrate
Rogers 75th and it was a wonderful place to meet up with our
daughter from Somerset and our two sons who live in Hampshire and
their families and the dog Captain came too. We only wish we could
stay longer - perhaps next time. Clive and Theresa - Your lovely
cottage is warm and welcoming and the decor is just what we like!
And thank you as well to Dorset Cottage Holidays who made the
booking so easy to manage. We will make sure to come back!!
We had a lovely time. We walked to Corfe Castle along the coast
and up and down a few hills. Weather was good and by the end of the
week in the 20s. The cottage is a great base. We appreciated the
well-equipped kitchen.
Beautiful cottage which is very well maintained. Wish we could
live here! We will recommend it to many of our friends. We booked
through Dorset Cottage Holidays who kept us well informed and
checked to make sure we were ok. Nanny, Grandad, Mum, Dad, Auntie
Sonia, Uncle Neil, Joe, Evie, Max, Anna, Rosie and Alex.
Celebrating Grandads 70th!
Had a wonderful four days at Seacombe. Weather has been great.
Lovely part of the country to visit. So many walks and places to
see. Will definitely be back.
Fabulous stay in a gorgeous cottage. Wonderful day at Lulworth
Cove and Durdle Door. Fab pub across the road with a great
atmosphere and lovely beach walks with Bailey the dog. The cottage
had everything we needed and more. PS. Cracking CD collection!
We have had the most relaxing stay at Seacombe over the last few
days. It ticks all the boxes and has been finished to such a high
standard and an idyllic location. We will most definitely be
back.
The most perfect country cottage. Lovely walk to Corfe. Roaring
log fire, stunning coastal walk, Idyllic! Can't wait to visit
again.
