I had a wonderful break away in this lovely cosy and sunny cottage. It is very well equipped and comfortable, there was nothing lacking. Wonderful walks from the doorstep, a beautiful peaceful location. Thank you to the owners for the lovely welcome pack. I will definitely return.

A friendly welcome from the owners who live nearby, and a great place to stay in a peaceful location with fantastic walks & views on the doorstep.
This was our second stay at ailwood and will hopefully be back in the future
Jim & Elaine gingell 30/06/2019
Ailwood Cottage is very comfortable and well equipped containing everything you would want for a lovely country holiday but within easy reach of the sea. Everything was of a high standard and spotlessly clean. It was in a perfect location with walks literally from the door and the cottage contained a very comprehensive file of places of interest and local attractions. A very nice touch was the basket of goodies which immediately made you feel very welcome. I would definitely book this lovely cottage again
Pauline Hurst 25/06/2019

Views are lovely and lots to do in the are .I am a little biased as all my childhood holidays were spent in Dorset.!!
Mary Harbron 21/09/2018
After a delayd start and a mix up with the keys we really enjoyed our stay. The cottage is beautiful, immaculate and well equipped. Situated in a beautiful area and in a lovely rural setting but close enough to a few nice pubs and Corfe Castle. We would definitely recommend Ailwood Cottage and would have no hesitation in returning.
Mary 07/09/2018

The cottage is positioned in a lovely quiet area and easily accessible to Corfe - Swanage and other areas of interest with lovely countryside .

Thank you
Dee 19/10/2017
Cottage is in a quiet lane with easy access to walks on the downs. It is well equipped, clean and comfortable. Nice and centrally placed for exploring the Purbeck area.
Gail Lawrence 12/10/2017
The cottage is down a quiet lane and is well decorated. The bedroom is excellent. The kitchen is well equipped and outside the back door is a decked area with table and chairs. We hoped to use this but the weather was a little too cold during our stay.
The owners are in the farmhouse next door and provide a nice welcome basket. They are very friendly and helpful.
Kim Jelleyman 30/09/2017
Ailwood Cottage is a very clean, comfortable and well equipped cottage. It is well placed to go walking along the Downs. We walked to Swanage, Corfe and Studland from the cottage with our dog, which in the height of the season is a bonus not to have to try and find a parking space or worry about drinking and driving!
A good BBQ is provided but remember to take your own tools as the only utensils in the cottage are plastic!
The welcome grocery basket is a lovely thoughtful gesture.
Great cottage.
P Baum 16/09/2017
This cottage is perfect for two people. It it not too small or cramped which some two bed cottages can be. It is set in a peaceful location close to attractions. It is an ideal base for walking, which we did a lot of during our stay. The cottage is well equipped and has everything you need for a holiday and more.
We would happily book again, if we were to visit the area in the future.
Michaela Holliday 01/09/2017
Easily booked complete cottage on a beautiful spot with a beautiful view: Ailwood Cottage. Very friendly owners living next to the cottage.
Fully equipped.
Sander 04/08/2017
Lovely clean, well equipped rural cottage close to Corfe Castle. Very comfortable with good quality furniture/bedding etc.

Lovely touch with the welcome basket of goodies - very welcome!

Lots of great walks from the cottage.

Will definitely book again if going to that area.
Gail Brown 30/06/2017
We found everything to be of a very high standard in the property and it was a pleasure to stay here. The location makes it easy to get to all the best places, Corfe Castle, the steam train, Swanage and Arne, etc. As it was so very hot (yes really!) owner Claire thoughtfully brought round a lighter weight duvet for us. Next time we are planning to be in the area we will make this our first choice.
Martin C 30/06/2017
terrific cottage,felt more like home.
we would recommend the cottage to any person who might be looking for a cottage in the corfe castle area and liked to have some strenuous walking.
dennis and kezia thomas 24/10/2016
Good welcome basket - much appreciated.. Nice to find all the sundry supplies like loo paper, cleaning materials, dishwasher and washing machine tablets, and tea, coffee and sugar all provided! Everything in the cottage good quality too! - very much a home from home. This is the first DCH cottage we have rented with all of these provided - and we have rented three cottages previously - so was a pleasant surprise and much appreciated. It was great to see the owners had gone that little bit further to make sure guests had an enjoyable stay.(My daughter in law found all of these provided in her holiday cottage in Norfolk so perhaps not so unusual these days but appreciated anyway!)
Anyway a very pleasant stay. Oh, and we found the owners charming and helpful - and we found the 'Isle of Purbeck and Swanage Guide' provided with the other area activity guides invaluable! Only down-point for us was the lack of a secure yard and grass area for the dog - but we worked around that.
Anthony Cole 06/10/2016
This was a beautiful cottage which was well equipped with every thing needed for an enjoyable stay! It was well furnished with little finishing touches that made it feel like home! The welcome pack was well recieved and a lovely idea! Claire the owner came to introduce herself, she was extremely friendly and gave us good tips for places to visit, The surrounding countryside was stunning with excellent views and deer and sheep nearby. An excellent base for walkers and cyclists or for just relaxing away from it all. Was sad to leave
Debbie and Dave Packham 13/09/2016
had an enjoyable 2 weeks
sue 16/07/2016
One of the best cottages I have stayed in and fully equipped. We will be back.It was nice that the beds were made and top quality towels supplied.I cant fault the whole experience.
Josephine Portsmouth. 22/04/2016
Very impressed with the standard of the cottage, fittings and decor........the welcome pack was a nice touch too. We had booked in order to explore the surrounding area looking at butterflies and nature in general as my partner takes wildlife images.....we had green woodpecker close by ..roe deer in the field opposite and Sika deer on the hill behind ..so that was a bonus !!!! .....
A friend of mine has asked about the cottage and I will have no hesitation in recommending the place .
The area was beautiful with varied attractions and superb scenery . Despite the poor weather we had a lovely time and will return one day .
Gale Harris. 20/08/2015
This is our second visit to Ailwood Cottage and as before we had a thoroughly lovely holiday-helped by two weeks of glorious weather! Bill and Claire are warm and friendly but not at all intrusive-there if you want anything or if you like to pass the time of day when you meet them. The situation of the cottage for us- who love to get out and walk-is absolutely ideal and so well situated between Corfe, Swanage and Studland. The walking opportunities are fantastic and Corfe, Swanage and Studland are lovely places to visit and shop.
A superb situation and very comfortable cottage-enjoy!
Chris and Jenny Castell 09/07/2015
Received very warm welcome and cottage lived up to all our expectations.

We were very pleased with our time at Ailwood Cottage. We were greeted not long after arrival, and everything was perfectly prepared for our stay. We could not have imagined just how enjoyable a time we would have, and are most grateful for the effort gone in to creating such a lovely cottage.
