We have recently returned from our third stay in Brontë cottage. It is so cosy, comfortable and well-equipped that it is a pleasure to return home to it after a day out in the Dorset countryside. The clothes dryer piping hot shower and fire made it ideal for an out of season break. We tend to cook in the evenings whilst on holiday and the kitchen is so well-equipped. With great atmosphere, convenient parking and the amenities of Wareham, Brontë cottage is an ideal place to stay from which h to visit the Isle of Purbeck.
Jacqueline Tuttlebury 08/03/2020
Excellent cottage.
Everything you could possibly need.
Will come again.
Mike Buller 27/02/2020
Beautifully set gorgeous cottage. Fantastic location will definitely book again and highly recommend. Thank you for all of your lovely extras on arrival, lovely bag of goodies was well appreciated.
Elisa Wells 02/01/2020
Bronte cottage is comfortably furnished, the bed linen and towels are top quality, and I've never seen such a well equipped kitchen! The location was ideal for us (two ladies of mature years). We were within 80-100steps to the quay and all it's attractions - not least the restaurants! And in easy walking distance of the old town centre. The church opposite is beautiful and I loved the bells. I will definitely be coming back.
Laura W 29/11/2019

This is the first time we have stayed in Wareham. We found it to
be a lovely friendly place. The weather could have been better but
as the cottage is ideally placed we id not find this a problem and
made good use of local buses. We stayed here with friends and have
had a wonderful time. hopefully we shall return.

Joyce & Norris 23/11/2019

Unbelievable cottage, so well equipped yet with so much
character and in the heart of Wareham, so close to three good pubs
and a fantastic restaurant. Though the highlight had to be an early
morning walk along the river Frome. To quote our favorite band
Elbow "What a perfect waste of time".

Lindsey & Steve 23/11/2019
We had four nights here and really loved the cottage. It is extremely well equipped with all the comforts of home. Everything we thought we might need was there and much more as well. It was warm and cosy and tastefully presented. I loved the roll top bath and am now spoilt for my own more modern bath! We found the location quiet despite being central but of course it may be different in the summer. All the shops are very close and the quai is just round the corner. The only warning I would give is the stairs are very steep, not a problem for us but could be if you had difficulties with stairs.

Overall, we loved it, hope to stay again and highly recommend it to others.
Lindsey 20/11/2019
We returned to Brontë cottage as it is a delightful period property with great character and is ideally situated for exploring the isle of Purbeck. The town of Wareham offers a range of shops, as well as the farmer's market and market on the quay and we loved waking to the sound of the church bells being rung in the church which stands opposite. The cottage itself has such great character and is very tastefully and comfortably furnished, and well-equipped. We stayed out of season and the cottage was so cosy and welcoming; a great place to return to after a day out in the fresh air. We are already discussing when to return!
Jacqueline Tuttlebury 11/10/2019
We were two couples visiting from two different parts of the country and this cottage met all of our needs. It was snug, extremely well situated and beautifully well equipped. (All the kitchen equipment was Miele). We already knew we loved Dorset having holidayed previously in Swanage, so weren't disappointed. Parking can be difficult with two cars (one parking permit is provided for a car park fairly nearby) but we overcame this with the help of two local friendly builders who were working on the church wall next door. I would definitely recommend this cottage for a week's break.
Judith 08/10/2019
In an excellent position only yards from the quay. Everything about the cottage was superb making it very comfortable and warm. It was a home from home. Would definitely stay there again sometime in the future.
John Robinson 21/09/2019
Bronte Cottage is well situated for easy access to all that Purbeck has to offer. It is cosy, well equipped and beautifully presented. It has the great advantage of a wide range of amenities within a very short walk from the door and so limited driving is needed. The beds and linen are superb and the bathrooms of a high quality. The perfect cottage for a relaxing break with the coast a short drive away offering swimming, water sports and beautiful coastal walks. The only downside for some may be the steep stairs but this is only to be expected in a cottage of considerable age.
Karen B. 20/08/2019
Excellent property. Great location and well appointed. Our second stay and we intend to return again.
Jane Meadowcroft 16/05/2019
We ver much enjoyed our recent short stay at Bronte Cottage. Not having been to Wareham before we loved the quayside, the river walks and the town itself. The cottage was perfectly located steps from the quay and despite being right in the heart of things, it was a little haven. The courtyard was pretty and a sun trap. The house was well furnished and has every convenience. The owners had thought of everything- including dog bowls and towels! We would love to stay again, thank you
Jenny 25/04/2019
Very comfortable and warm old cottage with homely furnishings and lovely modern kitchen and good attractive private outside seating area. Enjoyed being so close to the pretty river walk for our wee dog, the pubs (recommend Tuesday steak night for a rib-eye cooked on hot stone at the Quay Inn) and shops, and Wareham is a great base for visiting Dorset. No double glazing in bedrooms so tiny bit of occasional noise but we slept well. Parking in Connegar Rd car park with permit worked well thank you. Easy to load and unload close to cottage. So long as we feel able to manage the stairs we would love to return; we are missing the cottage! DHC were a delight to deal with.
Jackie 09/04/2019
We were delighted by the character of Bronte cottage. We have stayed many cottages in Dorset and Bronte is now our firm favourite as it was so comfortably furnished and well-equipped. We instantly felt at home and it was a pleasure to return after a day out, exploring our favourite haunts. Our stay was in February and the cottage was warm and such a great place to spend the long evenings. The location in Wareham was a convenient base from which to explore the Isle of Purbeck and also offered shops and cafes to cater for our needs. We are looking forward to returning later this year.
Jacqueline Tuttlebury 11/03/2019
The cottage was a charming, cosy retreat. Well furnished, spotlessly clean and very well equipped, it was a delight to return to it each day and although our stay was in February, it was so warm and welcoming . The location, near to the quay and church in Wareham, was a very convenient base from which to visit our favourite Dorset haunts. We have every intention of returning.
Jacqueline Tuttlebury 08/03/2019
Everything about this cottage suited us good. Location, equipment, comfort, dog friendly, little extras and cleanliness.
David Harrison 12/01/2019
Cottage in really pretty location, beds very comfortable but downstairs seating not very comfortable especially if there were five guests, We were three.
Great to have a smart tv and WiFi.
Kitchen well equipped. Cottage nice and warm, lots of books suggesting walks and maps, etc. Very thoughtful
Early morning noise was a bit of an issue. Strange banging at 7.30 am each morning ? And also noise probably connected to the pubs nearby, but location very pretty as mentioned and convenient for shops, etc.
Parking voucher worked well, very close to cottage. Spaces outside the cottage full every day.
Debbie Trinnaman 09/11/2018
We had a great week at Bronte Cottage. A little difficult to find at first but in a hugely convenient location and the cottage had everything we needed. Beware of the very steep stairs!
Nicky Lomas 25/08/2018
attention to detail in the décor particularly outstanding. only downside is the steepness of the stairs and the tight dimensions of the bedrooms, but this is not a criticism, as you would expect for a cottage of this period. great location for the quay and shops of the town.
Eric Holland 10/08/2018
Bronte Cottage is lovely. Very well equipped, everything you need for a stay. I forgot my dog bowl and was just about to buy one, but there was no need as there are three!

It is well maintained and very comfortable. The courtyard is small but was ideal for my dog and me.

The stairs could be a challenge if you are less-abled. Also, the location is great in some respects - close to the river, pubs, bars, town centre. This also means it was a little noisy at closing time. But its a minor thing compared the overall experience.
Jo 13/07/2018
Loved being near the quay everything you need was supplied, the only downside was the steep stairs a bit frightening
Shirley smith 22/06/2018
This is a lovely cottage which is very well kitted out.
I would say the third bedroom could really only be classed as a study and I couldn't ever use the bath as I would probably knock myself out as headroom is virtually non existent!
But with two double bedrooms and a lovely downstairs its a great place for a break.
Yes it can be a bit noisy at times being so near the quay but not excessively.

We enjoyed our week and loved Wareham.
Jane 14/06/2018
Bronte cottage is delightful! Excellently well equipped and comfortable, we couldn't have asked for more.
Jane Meadowcroft 11/05/2018
Excellent facilities, cosy and warm, great location close to all restaurants and activities
Trudi 16/04/2018
Several of us booked this cottage over the festive period, not quite knowing what to expect. We were delighted not only with how helpful the staff at Dorset Cottage Holidays were, but with the extremely high quality of Bronte Cottage. It was an absolute pleasure to stay here and the number of small, personal touches was noticed.
This cottage is well-situated in the centre of Wareham, with everything you could want within a very short walk. It has been renovated to an extremely high standard and the kitchen and shower room deserve particular mention.
The beds are extremely comfortable, although it should be mentioned just how tiny and cramped the single room is.
We were all delighted to stay here, and we will be booking this cottage again. A very special stay.
Melody Hayes 19/01/2018
We were delighted with Bronte Cottage. It included all you would require for a comfortable stay. The location was excellent with a short step to the river and all of Wareham's amenities. Also a short drive to a variety of coastal locations, walks and nature areas.
One slight problem which may not suit everyone is the stairs which are a little on the steep side.
Steve Whiteford 14/11/2017
A wonderful cottage maintained to a very high standard. Beds are very comfortable and despite the cottage appearing small from the outside it's surprising spacious inside. Nicely equipped kitchen leading onto a secluded patio/garden area – all in all we were delighted with this property.
Roger Day 16/09/2017
BRONTE Cottage is a Holiday Home full of character. The Old Stones and the wonderful furniture make it cosy. The beds are very comfortable. Just the stair is a little bit steep. The Equipment is very luxurious, everything You wish for is there. During our Stay the Espresso Automat did not work. As for every question the friendly DHstaff was of great help and right the next day the Cottage owner brought a new one! The patio is decorated with lovely Flowers and it is nice, Sunny and quietscht to sit in there and have a good read. On the other hand the Wareham Quay is just 10 footsteps away and You are in an amazing place with the picturesque River Frome and wonderful Pubs.
Dr. Heike Schünemann 01/09/2017
I have mobility issues so I found the stairs difficult, other than that the cottage was fine, the courtyard was very pleasant for sitting out in
gillie 18/07/2017
The cottage had everything that you need for a very comfortable holiday and I would certainly like to spend another holiday there.
Thank you
Peter & Brenda Matthews 13/06/2017
What a magical place! Fantastic location, central yet tucked away. Cottage oozes character and just makes you smile. High quality amenities like ultra fluffy White Company towels and John Lewis sheets. Well stocked kitchen with helpful labels of where things are located. Couldn't believe our luck! Will definitely be back when we return to the area. Thanks for a wonderful time.
Kim 03/03/2017
A lovely spot between the church green and the quay. The town has history and friendly inhabitants. There's a good market on Saturday's and a preserved cinema, plus a number of pubs (the camra pub near the Saxon church had fab beer). The Priory Hotel had good traditional food and service and we ate lunch looking over the garden. We also visited Rick Stein at Sandbanks, a delightful drive via Corfe and Studland and the chain ferry. Needless to say the restaurant, food, service and view across Poole Harbour were fabulous. Well located for the reserve at Arne, there was wildlife in abundance. Only negatives were we could hear music on Friday night and the passage way outside means people are in close proximity when they pass by. The cottage stairs are steep - because it is a cottage. Service and booking seamless.
Joyce Armstrong 22/04/2016
We spent a week at the end of January, beginning of February at Bronte Cottage. The cottage was warm and clean and comfortable and had everything that our party of two couples required. The cottage is close to all the local amenities which was great and there are lots of places to eat in Wareham which cut down on travel, and allowed everyone to have a drink or two.
Wendy Mccauley 12/02/2016
We wanted to get to know Wareham better - and this achieved our aim - a great base to explore the area from - and all the amenities we needed.
A.H 23/10/2015
My husband and I felt immediately at home in the beautiful Bronte Cottage. Comfortable, quiet, highly equipped with everything you need and may need! Perfect spot to explore Dorset from, but Wareham is a delight on its own. The River is a few steps away from the door, which has lovely pubs/restaurants, boat trips, boat hire and beautiful scenery.
Mrs Dore-Smith 04/08/2015
This is the second time we have stayed at Bronte Cottage and as before everything about it was perfect. We will be back. Thank you.
Mrs S Paynton Banbury Mart 2015 11/05/2015
It was a lovely cottage, very well equipped, comfortable, in an amazing central location, right near the river, and a great base for enjoying this lovely area.

We had a great week at Bronte Cottage. A little difficult to find at first but in a hugely convenient location and the cottage had everything we needed. Beware of the very steep stairs!

attention to detail in the décor particularly outstanding. only downside is the steepness of the stairs and the tight dimensions of the bedrooms, but this is not a criticism, as you would expect for a cottage of this period. great location for the quay and shops of the town.

Loved being near the quay everything you need was supplied, the only downside was the steep stairs a bit frightening

A wonderful cottage maintained to a very high standard. Beds are very comfortable and despite the cottage appearing small from the outside it's surprising spacious inside. Nicely equipped kitchen leading onto a secluded patio/garden area – all in all we were delighted with this property.

I have mobility issues so I found the stairs difficult, other than that the cottage was fine, the courtyard was very pleasant for sitting out in

The cottage had everything that you need for a very comfortable holiday and I would certainly like to spend another holiday there.
Thank you

What a magical place! Fantastic location, central yet tucked away. Cottage oozes character and just makes you smile. High quality amenities like ultra fluffy White Company towels and John Lewis sheets. Well stocked kitchen with helpful labels of where things are located. Couldn't believe our luck! Will definitely be back when we return to the area. Thanks for a wonderful time.

This is the second time we have stayed at Bronte Cottage and as before everything about it was perfect. We will be back. Thank you.

It was a lovely cottage, very well equipped, comfortable, in an amazing central location, right near the river, and a great base for enjoying this lovely area.
