Bronte Cottage is a charming cottage hidden away in a fabulous location a few strides from Wareham Quay and the river Frome. The cottage, dating back to at least 1845, is a listed building, and is located in Church Green, opposite Lady St Mary's parish church. Wareham Quay offers relaxing al-fresco dining and an olde public house. Enjoy a riverside walk where you will encounter diverse wildlife or just congenial company with other nature lovers along the riverside path.
Enjoy a good read in the cottage's quaint walled patio garden. Bronte Cottage could be taken from any quintessentially English novel, whilst incorporating a complete recent modernisation to include a beautifully fitted stylish kitchen, roll top bath and finely decorated double bedrooms. An additional single bedroom is available as the cottage comfortably accommodates 4 guests plus baby/child, head room over the bed is limited in the third bedroom and this is be more suitable as a child's bedroom.

3 Bedrooms: F/Fl 2 double rooms, additional single room with limited headroom. Lounge: Smart TV, DVD, Wi-Fi, wood burner effect gas fire. Reception Room: dining suite, stereo and games. Kitchen: electric oven & hob, microwave, fridge, freezer, w-machine/ t- drier & dishwasher. Bathrooms: G/F Shower Room with WC, F/Fl family bathroom with WC and roll-top bath. The kitchen had everything and more that we have at home... The bathrooms were both very practical, the shower was so good... Although I didn't bring our dog this time there was everything you needed to make their stay comfortable as well. I was going to put this next comment in the faults but after a discussion I was told I wasn't allowed.
The main bed was very very soft and comfortable with a selection of pillows to taste, but for me personally it was a little on the soft side... Like I said not really a fault for most people... All in all difficult to fault.
We think that DCH is very well run and thank the staff who do the cleaning and preparing the cottages for doing it really nicely.
Everything you could possibly need.
Will come again.
This is the first time we have stayed in Wareham. We found it to
be a lovely friendly place. The weather could have been better but
as the cottage is ideally placed we id not find this a problem and
made good use of local buses. We stayed here with friends and have
had a wonderful time. hopefully we shall return.
Unbelievable cottage, so well equipped yet with so much
character and in the heart of Wareham, so close to three good pubs
and a fantastic restaurant. Though the highlight had to be an early
morning walk along the river Frome. To quote our favorite band
Elbow "What a perfect waste of time".
Overall, we loved it, hope to stay again and highly recommend it to others.
Great to have a smart tv and WiFi.
Kitchen well equipped. Cottage nice and warm, lots of books suggesting walks and maps, etc. Very thoughtful
Early morning noise was a bit of an issue. Strange banging at 7.30 am each morning ? And also noise probably connected to the pubs nearby, but location very pretty as mentioned and convenient for shops, etc.
Parking voucher worked well, very close to cottage. Spaces outside the cottage full every day.
It is well maintained and very comfortable. The courtyard is small but was ideal for my dog and me.
The stairs could be a challenge if you are less-abled. Also, the location is great in some respects - close to the river, pubs, bars, town centre. This also means it was a little noisy at closing time. But its a minor thing compared the overall experience.
I would say the third bedroom could really only be classed as a study and I couldn't ever use the bath as I would probably knock myself out as headroom is virtually non existent!
But with two double bedrooms and a lovely downstairs its a great place for a break.
Yes it can be a bit noisy at times being so near the quay but not excessively.
We enjoyed our week and loved Wareham.
This cottage is well-situated in the centre of Wareham, with everything you could want within a very short walk. It has been renovated to an extremely high standard and the kitchen and shower room deserve particular mention.
The beds are extremely comfortable, although it should be mentioned just how tiny and cramped the single room is.
We were all delighted to stay here, and we will be booking this cottage again. A very special stay.
One slight problem which may not suit everyone is the stairs which are a little on the steep side.
Thank you
