Located in the heart of the Dorset village of Wool, Abbeydale is a spacious and welcoming three-bedroom home perfectly suited to families, friends and four-legged companions alike. With generous living areas, a secure garden and ample off-road parking, this is a comfortable and practical base for exploring both the Jurassic Coast and the surrounding countryside.

Abbeydale is semi-detached and sits on a quiet country lane with a picturesque meadow view over the East Burton Estate, home to the River Frome. Where anglers can test their skills in one of the oldest chalk steams in the country.

Inside, Abbeydale has a relaxed, homely feel. The main lounge offers a cosy space for evenings together, complete with a Smart TV, WiFi, sofa seating and a selection of games — ideal after a day spent on the coast or out walking. The large kitchen is well equipped for easy self-catering, featuring an electric oven, gas hob, microwave, fridge, freezer and dishwasher, while the dining area provides space for formal meals and unhurried breakfasts.

Upstairs, the accommodation comprises a double bedroom, a twin and a single, offering flexibility for families or small groups. Two first-floor family bathrooms — each with a shower cubicle (please note restricted headroom over the bath) — make mornings straightforward. A ground floor WC and separate utility room with washer/drier add convenience for longer stays.

Outside, the secure rear garden is a real highlight. A generous lawn and large patio with outdoor furniture and gas BBQ create an ideal space for summer dining, while children and dogs can enjoy the enclosed setting. There is also washing line for beach towels after salty days by the sea. Abbeydale benefits from parking for three to four cars on the driveway, central heating throughout, and family-friendly extras including a travel cot, high chair and stair gate. Two dogs are welcome at £25 per pet.

Local Area

Abbeydale sits centrally within Wool, a well-connected village positioned perfectly between countryside and coast. Shops, cafés, bakeries and traditional pubs are all within walking distance, making it easy to enjoy an evening meal or pick up essentials without needing the car.

One of Wool’s biggest advantages is its mainline train station, just a short walk from the property. With direct connections to Weymouth, Dorchester, Wareham, Poole, Bournemouth and London Waterloo, it’s ideal for guests arriving by rail or for stress-free day trips along the coast. This makes Abbeydale especially convenient for car-free stays or visitors wanting to explore further afield without driving.

Just minutes away lies the world-famous Jurassic Coast, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Discover the clear waters of Lulworth Cove, walk to the dramatic limestone arch at Durdle Door, or spend the day at the wide pebble sweep of Chesil Beach. The sandy beaches and traditional promenade of Weymouth are also within easy reach.

For walkers and cyclists, nearby Wareham Forest offers woodland trails, while the Purbeck Hills provide far-reaching views over countryside and sea. Family attractions such as Monkey World, the Tank Museum, and historic Corfe Castle are all just a short drive away.

With its village-centre setting, walkable station, generous garden and comfortable interiors, Abbeydale offers a wonderfully convenient Dorset base — equally suited to coastal adventure, countryside exploration, or simply time together in a spacious home-from-home.
