Introduction & General Information:


Ballard House is located in Swanage, Dorset on a small newly built residential development at the eastern end of the Jurassic Coast and World Heritage site.

Swanage is ideally situated as a base for its exploration. The town has it all: a beautiful bay with a golden, sandy beach; a lively town buzzing with festivals and events throughout the year; and thriving water sports, arts and culinary scenes, its surrounding areas are also treasures waiting to be unearthed.

From famous landmarks such as Durdle Door and Corfe Castle, to secret coves amongst untouched, rugged coastline; alongside local hubs for music, culture and Dorset cuisine, there is something unique waiting just around the corner in and around Swanage at any time of year. Whether you want to explore the incredible history of the Jurassic Coast, have a traditional seaside holiday, or want to discover the secret spots and villages tucked away in the Purbeck Hills, these are some of the highlights just a stone’s throw from Swanage.

Ballard House is a new modern semi-detached 3 storey home located in a small cul-de-sac. The house is built of brick with its own driveway, garage, garden and offers a comfortable and luxurious living space for guests.


The ground floor provides a free-flowing kitchen with family & dining areas offering a great space for entertaining with French doors leading from the family area into the rear garden, which allows the inside and out to flow. There is also a Boot & Pooch room situated off the hallway for outdoor clothing, boots and for a dog to enjoy.


The first floor features the main family lounge with a large window allowing natural light to flood in and also the master bedroom with an En-suite bathroom.

The second-floor features 2 further double bedrooms and the main bathroom.

With the safety of guests in mind it is suggested that the property may only be suitable for guests who have visual, hearing or mobility impairment if they are accompanied. Regrettably, at the moment we only have standard smoke detectors and are therefore not able to offer the higher level of warning systems (e.g. flashing or vibrating alarms) on which a guest with such impairments would rely if travelling alone.

Arrival & Parking


Ballard House has its own driveway leading to a detached garage and has space for two average size vehicles.


There are no steps into the front of the property.


There are outside lights at the front and rear of the property.


The house keys are provided in a key safe adjacent to the front door.


DCH can be contacted in an emergency, details provided in arrival instructions emailed 10 days prior to holiday.

The front door is 84cm wide and 204 cm high.

There is a side gate into the rear garden.

All internal doors are 84cm wide and 198 cm high.

The ground floor and all bathrooms have Amtico flooring throughout, all other rooms and stair cases are carpeted.

Day’s Park is a 5-minute walk away situated off Northbrook Road opposite D’Urberville Drive, which has a large grass area, gardens and children’s play area.


Dog Walking Area

For guests with a dog there is a dog walking area opposite St Marys Primary School, which is a 5-minute walk away. The area has three fields and a footpath around the perimeter.
