Thank you for a delightful cottage- we had a most enjoyable time
and appreciated all the goodies you left for us. It was a most
enjoyable week- above our expectations. p.s Our favorite visits
were to Portland Bill, Abbotsbury, Athelhampton house and Hardy
Monument. The fox inn was closed but we liked The Spinghead inn at
sutton poyntz.

The Hepwood's 23/11/2019
We had a great week in this comfortable and spacious cottage. It had all we needed and we even managed to make use of the lovely wood burning stove in May. Great location for family attractions. Within walking distance of the coast but a bit far for little legs. Would stay again if in Weymouth area.
Clare Tattam 17/06/2019
We enjoyed our stay at Lavender Cottage. Lots of space for 4 adults and one child. Good layout of rooms. Really helpful having 3 toilets and one downstairs. Clean, well equipped. Good position, opposite pub. Quiet, private. The only issue was the parking. Only one space which at times was taken by another car. For a cottage that accommodates up to 6 people its unlikely all would come in one car. We had two cars, one of which was parked a long way away which was inconvenient at times. However, we would definitely stay here again in the future. We enjoyed our stay and loved the area. Thank you

March 18th - 21st 2019 We had such a lovely time here with our
baby daughter - very relaxing! The weather was wonderful on one day
so we all trecked to the top of the cliffs to see Durdle Door. Even
got sunburnt - a truly lovely memory to take home. Thank you so
much.

Albi, Nicky & Daisy 25/04/2019

12/04/19 to 19/04/19 Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Lavender
Cottage. So much to do and so near at hand. Portland - found the
pirates graves, D-D Centre, Castle Tank Museum. fun on the
beach/rock pools at Bowlease Cove. Enjoyed supper at the Shy Fox.
Thank you for the bottle of wine. Richard & Thelma Saunders

Friday 15th March to Monday 18th March A good weekend spent here
in Weymouth from the Garden of England - Kent. Made even more
enjoyable in your comfortable Cottage. Thank you.

We never return to the same cottage twice - but we might return to Lavender cottage! It’s warm and cosy and spacious enough for a family of 5 - but possibly could squeeze in 7 or 8 . We had just 2 nights but love the area so much - the fact that you can walk across fields to the sea and all the lovely places to visit are are the doorstep.
Fantastic value and thanks so much for the new year champagne welcome!
Highly recommend
Andrea 10/01/2019

Lovely stay at Lavender Cottage. Very comfortable, lovely xmas
dinner at The Bridge Inn. The welcome pack was much appreciated. No
doubt we will be back!

Maggie 30/12/2018

Had a wonderful time in the cottage, it was ideal for a short
winter break. We visited Osmington Horse, West Bay, Bridport, Fleet
Air Museum and also raced the Dorset Coastal event. Stunning
coastline and a great place to visit. The cottage was great!

Mal & Karen 06/12/2018

Booked last minute, cottage had everything we needed for short
stay. Cottage was clean and tidy. Easy access to the area of
Weymouth and dorset. Farm shop did a lovely breakfast and selection
of produce. Our only negative comment was uht milk in fridge when
next to a dairy farm and the washing machine needs to be cleaned
out. We would stay her again for a short break as excellent value
for money.

Response: Thank you for your review, I am pleased you had a
lovely stay. I am sorry the milk was unable to be exchanged for
fresh as you booked on a last minute basis. We have also requested
the washing machine to be checked throughly. We hope to welcome you
again soon.

Hayley 03/12/2018

A lovely cottage with every thing you needed, The only problem
was the amount of flies, the weather was hot which suited us but we
were not able to open the windows or doors to cool us down because
of the flies. Had it not been for the flies we would have given
Lavender Cottage 5 Stars. Tony Matthews & family from
Tadcaster.

This is our second visit to lavender cottage. it is a really nice home from home. all you could need. we had the lovely weather too. Dorset is our favourite county we like to come down every year. this time we visited Lyme Regis which is a great day out. we then drove to Charmouth and had a picnic on the beach. A great beach for bathing. Also Weymouth and Dorchester. 3 visits to corfe castle this time. Went up to the north and visited the lovely village of Shaftesbury it is absolutely beautiful and well worth the drive. Gold Hill being the main attraction. There are also many unique gift shops and places to eat. Osmington is a good central place to stay with good amenities nearby.Totally a great holiday. Many thanks.
susan perry 13/07/2018
The cottage was really comfortable and perfect for our needs. It worked well for us as a family of 4 (5yr old and 2.5yr old) and was surprisingly spacious. We especially loved the secluded garden and the children had fun running round outside and hiding. It's well positioned for many of Dorset's wonderful attractions, mostly within a half an hour drive. We had a wonderful week and would recommend this cottage to others.
Sarah Dale 22/06/2018

Absolutely perfect for our requirements for a long weekend. All the information we required for eating out, walks, etc easily to hand. The book and dvd collection gave us the homely feel - actually read two of them. Lovely village and location. Very convenient farm shop 50 metres away. Perfect.
Julia and Andy Hyde 12/10/2017
The cottage was lovely , lots of space and was spotlessly clean. The location was great not just for Weymouth but also the surrounding areas. Would highly recommend a stay.

a lovely few days. Great cottage pretty garden and very good location. Gorgeous when the sun comes out. welcoming bottle of red wine a very nice touch
Anon 30/05/2017
Just down for a long weekend. Went over to Portland Bill and climbed the lighthouse. Lovely lunch at The Lobster Pot next door, then off to find the Pirates Grave at a church. A day spent in Lyme Regis, roast at Lbk and ice cream on a windswept beach- fantastic!
If you are looking for provisions, head towards Weymouth and you'll find a Spar on right, Co-Op on left!

We've had a very special stay at Lavender Cottage- our first family holiday since our bay son was born in February and our first trip back to Dorset since we got engaged in 2011.

Lavender cottage is a beautiful cottage, in a really lovely part of Dorset. The cottage has everything you want and need for a holiday, and the Dairy next door, selling lovely breakfasts, and the Smugglers' Inn pub just a mile away were wonderful bonuses.
We had a really enjoyable week's holiday
Mrs Hazel Wright 07/10/2016
we have stayed in the area on numerous occasions and never tire of Dorset. the cottage was lovely and had everything we could have needed. we were joined by my daughter and partner and 7 month old baby. they also loved the cottage. the dressing room was perfect for the baby giving her her own room. the dairy next door has lots of lovely produce. the village itself is lovely to walk round. a few years ago i found that my ancestors come from Osmington and have been able to locate a grave in the churchyard. went to Weymouth and Portland. Corfe Castle twice as i found other ancestors from there, and we are national trust members the walk up the castle is wonderful with great views. Swanage is lovely, as is Lulworth cove and Ringstead. our weather wasnt great but didnt stop us having a lovely time. would definately reccomend this lovely cottage. Osmington is a great central location for exploring all of Dorset. thankyou. the perry family June 2016

Peaceful week. Osmington Village a chocolate box dream!
Lucky with wonderful weather. Fed the horse everyday opposite the dairy. So greedy!
Saw lots of the attractions including Monkey World and The Swannery.
As an elderly couple we thank you very much for our weeks break.
Mr and Mrs Kelly 12/09/2015
What a fabulous week we have had- helped by the weather (a whole week of sunny days!). We found the cottage very comfortable and well equipped/
We had lots of days out- Sandbanks, Lulworth Cove, Weymouth, Swanage and we recommend them all. The nearby Bowleaze Cove was also very good with a decent café.
The nearby pubs we recommend are The Springhead which has a lovely garden and beautiful backdrop of rolling hills and The White Horse. Good food too. The Smugglers Inn is also very good for drinks/food despite work being done. The Sunray was closed for much of our stay so we only went there once or twice- a good play area for children.
T, J, C, L, O, A 05/09/2015
Had a very comfortable week at this cottage. It is very spacious and has everything one could need.
S Martin 25/08/2015
Thank you for providing a lovely base for us for our holiday. The cottage is well maintained and clean and tidy.
While we were here we visited the 5 in 2 Museums in Dorchester, The Sealife Centre in Weymouth, which we got free Tower Tickets but were unable to use due to maintenance so we have left them for the next guests to enjoy.
The Sunray Pub down the road do a lovely choice of food and the play area is a great asset when you have children.
All in all a great holiday home and a fantastic area with lots to do ie, The Tank Museum, Monkey World. All dun days.

Thanks again.

Studland Beach, Durdle Door and Chesil Beach are brilliant. We discovered West Bay and East Cliff. We recommend both The Smugglers Inn and Springhead.
