Thanks for our stay at Leap House over Easter, we were again very comfortable and enjoyed both local family and all the area has to offer. We hope to return here long.
We really enjoyed visiting the cottage and the area.
We will surely recommend Leap house
Wareham is known as the gateway to the Purbecks. It sits between two rivers and was historically a very important town, protected by Saxon Walls, which can still be seen today.
The Quay is home to several good pubs, restaurants and a weekly farmers market. You can also hire a boat to travel up and down the river or take a pleasure cruise out into Poole Harbour and the National Trust’s Brownsea Island. You can also walk along the river path down to Ridge and Arne Nature Reserve.
The town is home to a good museum, which showcases the long history of the town. Wareham is home to one of England’s oldest churches, which also houses an effigy of Lawrence of Arabia, who lived nearby.
Wareham Forest, Durdle Door, Corfe Castle, Lulworth Cove, Farmer Palmers and Arne Nature Reserve are all within a 10 minute drive.
The town of Wareham boasts a good range of eateries.
Have your morning coffee and a crossaint at Nellie Crumbs tea rooms on the High St.
For lunch why not enjoy eating al-fresco at The Old Granary, which sits on Wareham Quay and overlooks the River Frome.
In the evening why not try The Italian Kitchen, again located on Wareham Quay or the 29029 Restaurant in Sandford for Asian food.
