Wareham is a pretty and interesting town steeped in history, famously invaded by the Vikings. The town has stood on the once important trade route of the River Frome for thousands of years. The Saxon walls that surrounded and protected Wareham can still be seen today and guests can enjoy a guided tour in the summer months. Within walking distance of the Coach House, you will find several good pubs and restaurants, as well as a two supermarkets. You can stroll into town for a morning coffee at one of several coffee shops. A delicious cooked breakfast with locally sourced produce is an absolute must at The Salt Pig. Be sure to pop back one lunchtime for a slice of their homemade cake - it's yet to be beaten! In the summer months, why not take a leisurely boat trip along the Frome? Or, for the romantic in you, why not try a rowing boat just for two? SUP is also available - head down to the stunning redcliffe and onto Arne nature reserve - recently featured on BBC Springwatch!
As The Coach House is pet friendly, your four legged companions are sure to appreciate a well deserved holiday too! Within just a short stroll you will be on Wareham Common, grazed by cows and sometimes horses, you can walk down to the river which is a perfect paddling spot come rain or shine!
For something a little different and a step back in time, take a seat at the REX picture house - they even have a bar so you can snuggle up in the double seats with a glass of wine whilst watching your favourite film!
From the safe bathing waters of Swanage Bay to the picturesque Wareham Quay, we are proud to introduce you to the Isle of Purbeck. The beautiful countryside is blessed with pretty villages, churches and castles, testimony to its dramatic history. Purbeck also has some of Britain's best and cleanest beaches. Studland is famous for its seahorses and goldens sands. The coastline is a mix of quiet tranquil beaches and jagged, Jurassic coastline; a turbulent geological past has bequeathed it a stunning shoreline. Walkers are drawn to the area, with spectacular views to be enjoyed along the now famous 'Jurassic Jaunt'.
You will find The Coach House a perfect retreat for exploring all Purbeck has to offer. Make fabulous memories in this stunning part of the world - what are you waiting for?
