Holiday cottages in Church Knowle are much sought after.  Church Knowle is a beautiful village that sits at the foot of the Purbeck Hills.  From Corfe Castle you can stroll across rich farmland or drive down dreamy countryside road to reach Church Knowle.  The village boasts an excellent pub, the New Inn which is famous for its Dorset Blue Vinney soup and has an excellent pub garden.  The village is also home to the Margaret Green Rescue Centre, a day out that the little ones will love, if you are lucky your stay will co-incide with the annual dog show.

Yes — the New Inn is a proper village pub serving food and real ales, right in the heart of Church Knowle. There’s no village shop, so stock up at the Co-op or Tesco in Wareham (about 10 minutes away) on arrival.

Church Knowle is a small, peaceful village on the Isle of Purbeck in Dorset, about 2 miles north of Kimmeridge Bay and 4 miles southwest of Wareham. It sits on the Purbeck Ridge, with great walking and coastal views.

Kimmeridge Bay (rock pools, fossil hunting, and the famous ledges) is about a 10-minute drive. Chapman’s Pool, a beautiful shingle beach beneath the cliffs, is a 30-minute walk or short drive. Swanage and Studland Bay are roughly 20–25 minutes by car.

Buses are limited. The Purbeck Breezer (route 40) runs between Swanage and Poole via Church Knowle a few times a day, but a car is really the most practical way to explore the area.
