Set within the seaside town of Swanage, Purbeck View is a charming end-of-terrace cottage designed for relaxed, family-friendly stays by the coast. With a cosy, welcoming feel and thoughtful touches throughout, this two-bedroom home offers a comfortable base for exploring the beaches, countryside and iconic landmarks of the Isle of Purbeck.

Inside, the cottage is both practical and inviting. The main lounge offers a comfortable space to unwind, with seating for four, a Smart TV, WiFi, Bluetooth-enabled CD player, electric fireplace, and a selection of family games — perfect for cosy evenings after a day by the sea. The adjoining kitchen and dining area is well equipped for self-catering, featuring an electric oven, gas hob, air fryer, dishwasher and fridge/freezer, alongside a dining table with bench seating for up to five guests.

Upstairs, the accommodation is well suited to families. The king-size bedroom provides a restful retreat and benefits from its own TV, while the bunk room is ideal for children or additional guests. The family bathroom includes both a bath and shower, offering flexibility for busy mornings or relaxed moments after coastal walks. A separate outhouse which homes a washing machine for further convenience.

Outside, the property features a secure, medium-sized garden, accessed via a set of steps (please note these are uneven). At the top, a patio area with table and chairs and a BBQ creates a lovely space for outdoor dining or enjoying the fresh sea air. The cottage is particularly well equipped for families, with a travel cot, highchair, stair gate, picnic basket and rug, along with books and games provided. Two small dogs are welcome (£25 per dog), making it a great choice for those travelling with pets.

Local Area

Located in the heart of Swanage, Purbeck View places you within easy reach of everything this classic seaside town has to offer. Just a short stroll away, you’ll find the town’s golden sandy beach, traditional promenade, and a variety of independent cafés, restaurants and shops — perfect for relaxed days by the coast. We love Chococo, for a cosy hot chocolate on cooler days, or the Salt Pig Too for a hearty breakfast before a day of exploring.

Swanage is also the gateway to the stunning Isle of Purbeck and the world-famous Jurassic Coast, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. From the cottage, you can explore the clifftop paths of Durlston Country Park, take in the views at Old Harry Rocks, or spend the day discovering the natural beauty of Studland Bay – all just a short drive away. At Studland Bay, you’ll find kayaking tours with Fore Adventure, beach saunas and even a seaweed spa.

A short drive inland brings you to the historic village of Corfe Castle, with its dramatic ruins and charming streets, while the heritage Swanage Railway offers a scenic steam train journey through the countryside, and back to the sea. For walkers and cyclists, the surrounding hills and coastal paths provide endless opportunities to explore.

Whether you’re planning beach days, coastal walks or family adventures, Purbeck View offers a cosy and well-located base to experience Swanage and the wider Dorset coastline.
